ADDENDUM TO JUNE 2005 NEWSLETTER: A&E - FAITH OF MY FATHERS - Recent movie on A&E - http://www.aetv.com/faithofmyfathers/index.html - about John McCain's capture in Vietnam. The lead was portrayed by Shawn Hatosy, who is the son of Carol Owens Hatosy (1968), and nephew of John Owens (1970)! -- Shawn is also the nephew of Mary Owens Szita (1977) LONDON, FRIDAY JULY 8: We were glad to learn that Paul Hassler's (staff 1970-1979) oldest daughter, Kristen, a teacher in North Central London, is okay. She was on the same tube line, just a train ahead of the one attacked on July 7 at Edgeware Road. From Kristen: "Luckily, my more assertive side kicked in this morning because I was contemplating whether to go into work late this morning.  Had I waited just about 10-15 minutes I would have been on the train that got hit." PEARY HISTORICAL BOOK: From Linda Lojewski Blaser (1969) - A notice (article) was sent around my work at the National Archives and Records Administration about a new book discussing the Robert E. Peary Arctic Expedition and the controversy surrounding his claims. Thought it might be of interest to any PHS historians. It is titled "True North," by Bruce Henderson. It's also your chance to see some "regulars" like Grace Tigani, Lynn Boyd, and Eileen Steinkraus. Been reading it for years - thanks for all the Husky news. Director of Guidance, U-32 High School, Montpelier, VT Since High School: I discovered this site a number of years ago. Much has changed since then and it's time for an update. Since Peary I've been married and divorced, remarried and widowed. I have a Ph.D. in counseling and had been working with Montgomery County Public Schools as a high school counselor, most recently at Quince Orchard. A year ago I bought a 150-year-old, red, one-room schoolhouse in Vermont, complete with a working bell. I've been converting it to a house. The renovations are complete and it is my permanent home. I'm now working as the Director of Guidance at U-32 High School in Montpelier, VT. Future Plans: Settle in to life in Northern Vermont and learn cold weather gardening, continue traveling every chance I get, work on my short game, keep in touch with old friends. ********** From: Nanette Joannini Sword (1973) Date: Mon, 4 Jul 2005 Subject: Update Occupation: computer operator/county govt, Grandchildren: Hailey Peyton Robinson, age 2 1/2 months My first grandchild was born on April 12th in Lubbock, TX.
