We'll give this a try. There may be some submitted notices of such news within the body of the newsletter, however. ALL timely information, nonetheless, will always be posted at pearyhs.org right away and in-between the monthly newsletter distributions. MSO cannot always distribute specific-class notices, so please visit the website often. NEWSLETTERS: A reminder to everyone, and our new classmates aboard MSO.... all 7.5 year's worth of the monthly newsletters are archived on the website. E-MAIL ADDRESSES: Don't forget to update us with changes of e-mail addreses, OR if you move, a "Sign-up/Update" so that your class will have your updated info for class records. If you haven't received a newsletter in the past month, check the "Alumni E-mail" listings - there are likely problems encountered at last distribution.... company accounts with blocking filters, AOL accounts with blocking (nobody can reach you!) in AOL e-mail controls, and "freebie" accounts with severe quota limitations. Please keep us updated. PEARY POLO SHIRTS: Unfortunately, are no longer available for order. All links to the information and order forms have been removed. Thank you to the Classes of 1970 and 1971 for their assistance while this promotion was active to benefit the MSO project. Create a NEW e-mail to blau@viawest.net, and always include your grad year in the correspondence. If you don't sign with your name and grad year, it takes a long (unnecesssary) time to find out who's e-mailing us. Occupation: Chef, Spouse: Patricia, Children: Chris 21, Jennifer 19, Julie 17; Grandchildren: Tobin Elizabeth 6 mo. Memorable Incidents: There are so many things I remember that it's hard to believe so many years have passed. Those of us who were at Peary from 7th thru 12th grades played such a large part in each others lives during that time (and since) that it's hard to pick out one. However, I think none of us can ever forget the day JFK was shot. That day still holds an emotional charge in me. I was very proud to be part of our undefeated and untied football team. I am also proud to have gone to Peary and been exposed to the fine teachers and fellow students there. Since High School: After Peary I went to U of MD. I was a manager with Sears for 5 years, was a manager with Drug Fair for 4 years. During this time Some friends and I opened a restaurant in O.C. called LA Hacienda (still there on 80th st.) I sold my part of that and opened another restaurant in Western Mass. which lasted 4 years before we had to close. I moved to AZ and worked as a chef at resorts in Scottsdale for a year and moved again to NY as a chef. On vacation in Shenandoah Nat'l Park I meet my future wife Patricia and settled down for the last 13 years as chef at Big Meadows Lodge in the Park. I also manage the ski lodge during the winter at Massanutten Resort in VA. If any of you are ever in the area stop by and say hi. Future Plans: I plan to semi-retire very soon and conduct training courses for the Nat'l Restaurant Assoc. and play alot of golf. Memorable Teachers: Mr. Roberts, Mr. Stewert, Miss Bauer, Coach Laneve. Each one of them has left their mark on me and in me. I owe them more than I can ever repay. ********** From: Judie Miller Gracia (1974) Date: Fri, 2 Jan 2004 Subject: Update I found out about the website a long time ago from Randy McClement. I'm getting ready to start shooting my second short film called "Charity." This has been a really lonnnnnng road to get it made, but it's finally happening. The best part of it, we are already accepted into two film festivals. One will be the MethodFest in Burbank, CA in April if any of you are out this way!! I'm one of the Producers and co-writer and eeek, I'm actually the lead. It's really scary but very exciting. The Director of this film is Douglas Spain (www.douglasspain.com) who you will recognize after seeing his face. Most recently from "Band of Brothers." He is making his directorial debut and we have been friends for over ten years. I have really big hopes for this one. There are several of you that have really supported me in all ways, and without saying a name or two, I do want to thank you guys! It means so much to me to know that this many years later, there are people I grew up with that believe in me as an actress and filmmaker. I'm sure, in between festivals, we will have a screening in MD. I will let you all know well in advance and I hope to see you there!
