Carolyn Foote Johnson <Carolyn.Johnson@dobson.net>
(1978) How I
found out about the website? Been on it for years!
Occupation: CS Supervisor, Spouse: Mike...separated, though;
Children: Alex—six years old, Andrew—two and a half years old
Memorable Incidents: the death of Kevin Lynch, Mike Chapman being the
“pie phantom” Since
High School: Too much to write and nothing which hasn’t been updated
previously! Future
Plans: Be the best Mom I can be and continue working hard Memorable
Teacher: Mr. Hill...a greater teacher never existed, in my opinion.
Classy, fair, respectful... Other
alums I know about? Haven’t yet scanned the missing person’s list but
I seem to always know of a few! From:
To: Janet Peters <janet.peters@adelphia.net>
(1980) Hi
Girls! I’ve
been reading about the Pom Reunion on the MSO Website and it sounds like
it would be so much fun. Even
though I am 41 years old and out of high school for almost 23 years now...
certain songs will come on the radio and I’m still doing pom moves in my
head! Although I rarely hear “Groove Line” or “Love Will Keep
Us Together” these days I bet I could still do parts of those old
routines in my sleep. I
recently opened my old hope chest and found an old competition uniform
(which I got from Beth Sowers Chirico after the school closed), my blue
and white gloves, my “Kanga” puppet (significance?? anyone??) and a 1st
place trophy from the Poolesville Parade (I have no idea who I acquired
that from). I have lots of
old homecoming ribbons with stupid sayings like “Ram the Rams” and
something ‘dried up’ that appears to be an old mum with blue and white
ribbons. To this day when I
smell mums, I think of football games and the rustle of pom pons. I
have tons of pictures I could scan and send (1978 - 80) to any interested
poms. Great pictures of a sleepover we had at my house after a competition
with Shawna Napper in her “Undercover Angel” night shirt and everyone
wearing some ridiculous plaid hat that resembles a fishing hat.
I have pictures of us at camp all competing for “Miss
Frostburg” <LOL> and doing the Steve Martin “King Tut” dance.
I can remember hitting the Entenmanns Bakery at the wee hours of
the morning because we were “starving” ... I know to this day all that
Entenmanns’s stuff we ate and all those Montgomery Doughnuts are still
planted firmly on my hips. As
far as the present goes (need stop living in the past for a minute) - I am
a single mom of a guitar playin’, 14 year old, telephone hogging,
snowboarding chick magnet (my worst nightmare).
He’s a good kid and I love him with all my heart!!
I am presently unemployed (since December) from my Project
Management job at my former bankrupt employer, WorldCom.
However!! I am going to school and taking up Human Resource
Management. In my spare time
I attend sign language classes at the local deaf school - I am finally
(after 2 years) to the point where I am fluent.
One day (maybe after my young un’ is grown and gone) I plan to
use my education degree to teach deaf kids. I am
living in Colorado Springs about 1 mile form Pikes Peak.
What a beautiful town! I’ve
been here for 10 years. Hopefully
I’ll land a job soon and be able to stay.
If not, I am also looking at Columbia, SC and some spots back east. To
those who have written to me that I have not responded to, please accept
my apologies. I will try to
do better. I’ve not
attended many reunions - just the few that have been held here in Colorado
(there is a significant PHS alumni population in Colorado).
I do read the MSO often and am amazed at the accomplishments of old
classmates. We truly have an
amazing history. My family
keeps me posted on things that happen in and around Aspen Hill. To
all you old pommies out there - do a few “quick ball changes” and some
“fan kicks” for me at the picnic! Oh.. and that thing where you put
your hands (palms out) in front ... and kind of tilt your head to the
side??? You know what I’m
talking about! Although I
won’t be there physically - I’ll be here in spirit - donning my blue
eye shadow, bobbie socks, and white tennies just for YOU on that day. Peace
and Love to All! From:

(1979) It
seems like yesterday I was walking the halls of Peary and having great
times with friends and as the spring/summer season approaches, it brings
back so many great memories. The
Senior Banquet at Indian Spring Country Club, the Prom and graduation.
I am thankful that I made so many friends at Peary and that I
cherish the friendships I did make. I
am a still friend with Gay Laurienzo San Severino and it has been 26 years
since we became friends that September 1976.
I have been in touch with some old classmates and it has been fun
to reminisce with them. I
have come to the conclusion that life is too short and we should all
remember the friendships we developed way back when.
Unfortunately, some friends were taken from us too soon—Pat Bryan
(1978) who is still dearly missed, and John Buck (1981), but their legacy
was they left a lot of friends and wonderful memories behind.
I stay in touch through e-mail [thank goodness for e-mail] with old
friends such as Linda Fishbein Lyons-Drager (1980) and Marjie Shulman
(1979) whom I worked with at FDA a long time ago, and Randy Santos (1978). I would love to hear from Lynne Keady (1978) and Maureen Buck
(1978). It’s hard to
believe 25 years has passed since the Class of 1978 graduated.
I was very close to several classmates of that class, and outside
of my own class, they were special people. Take
care and have a wonderful Spring. From:
Ann Hoffman McKee <blue4dixie@msn.com>
(1965) I
recently received an award and commendation from my employer for my
continuing work in credit card fraud deterrence. Additionally, my husband
Paul (who is also employed by the same bank) and I both received awards
for our work in customer relations. From:
Jan Allcock Clagett <flutterby1717@aol.com>
(1971) I
found out about the website through aol.com.
Occupation: office services coordinator, Significant Other: Mike, Memorable
Incidents: senior banquet, senior skip day Since
High School: working for Montgomery County Government for 31 years Future
Plans: retire at age 55 Memorable
Teacher: Mrs. Pricilla Clagett, she was my husband’s stepmother, and Mr
Gibbs was her best friend, what a hoot! From:
Barbara Nicolaisen Van Dyke <go.terps@verizon.net>

(mortgage brokerage) Spouse: Bill (Parkdale ‘71), Children: Kelsey age
17, Carlyn age 13 In
October of 2001, my family moved to Manor Club. It’s great to be back in
good old 20853. My dad and sister Anna (‘71) live close and my husband
enjoys the golf course when he has time to play. My older daughter will
graduate from St. Johns College HS next year (it’s been co-ed since
early 90’s) and my younger daughter will go to Edmund Burke School next
year. Wish they could have had the REPHS experience! We’re very active
fans of University of Maryland football and basketball— stop by our
tailgate party (spaces 119 & 120 near the tennis courts) next fall and
say hey. From:
Eileen Brown Carter <ecarter236@aol.com>
(1965) Just
wanted to let the class of 65 know I am still keeping the records and many
new classmates have joined my list. We
even have some classmates who did not graduate with us but still want to
be included in all our activities. Also,
class how about some articles as I see many articles from other classes
but not from ours for the Sun and maybe a little dinero to keep this going
as all of you have found out we can keep our friendships and acquaintances
alive. If you have recently
moved or changed email addresses or know where our missing are please let
me know. I am a member of
Classmates.Com and am notified when new classmates sign on there so that
is another media I use to keep track of everybody.
If you don’t see someone on our list please contact me and I will
check and see if I have any contact for him or her. My
daughter is going to college after bringing four children into this world
and she is maintaining a B average and I am very proud of her.
She has the reading disorder that makes things look backward for
her and she is overcoming this hurdle. On
another note for class of 66 Donna Marie Brown Glass my sister had hip
replacement surgery on April 14, 2003 and she is doing very well and will
have surgery on her left hip next year.
I am home with her for at least 2-3 weeks to help with her
recovery. Her husband is an
18-wheel driver so he could not stay home with her so I am helping in that
department. If you would like
to email her please do so using my email as we both live in the old
household on Aspen Hill Road. Well
I guess I have rambled on long enough everyone take care and keep those
new addresses coming Bye
