Occupation: hair stylist, musician; Significant Other: Susan Fleigler, Children: no little ones, many pets..

Memorable Incidents: too much to list here !

Since High School: I have my own home in, (guess where..yep ROCKVILLE, 20853 ) and have had the time, energy and experience to form my own business, starting with lawn and landscape, the music performance, and finally ...Hair. The family trade had to take it’s pre destined course sometime, so relented and gave up landscaping...to be a hair stylist.  you can find me at ARTECH Hair Studio, owned by a friend, Rick Gesumaria, and located at 149 Rollins Ave..ROCKVILE ( are we starting to see any pattern in locale here ??).

I have a groovy life, and plenty of time to be indulgent in my hobbies which include performing in not one but TWO classic rock/ oldies bands. Locally and up / down the Eastern Seaboard. Yes I guess you could say I’ve set foot on just about every club stage there is, going back to Hammerjack’s in Baltimore, to Bayou in DC ( RIP ) and as mundane as SUMMITT STATION and Out of the Way Cafe..No record contract, no world wide CD distribution, but plenty of good tunes and times (and sometimes a fat pay check !)

Hope all Rowdy Huskies are cool, and wish all the best to everyone. Some Peary people I run into are ..the DiFonzo brothers ( David and Michael ), Mike Harper, Kevin Harwood, Kathy Bowser/Marbry, Greg Bowser, my very cool neighbor/ constructor Mark Ferdah, my very wild cousin Mark Rigopoulos and cousin Margaret Wenzlaff, Phil Wenzlaff. I’m sure there are more. A final wave and salute to those who didn’t make the journey like Bruce Prothero..

Please call me, email, say hello, I haven’t changed a WHOLE lot. Keep in touch as I will be recording and sending out a new original music CD this year, as well as re-mastering a number of my EIGHTIES demo’s recorded after my high school years. The band’s ( 2 ) information and bookings can be found at “ ROCKNROLLRELICS.com” and “ ROCKINPNEUMONIA.com”  I also have a site on MP3.com.. Looking for a shout out hello from : Dawn Knapp , Jeri Saylor, Kimberley Adams, Vicky Hughes, let me know where ya are.

I’m also In search of a large ship ANCHOR, prefferably WHITE with some artistic GRAFFITTI gracing it..Any have one for sale/ rent ??

Future Plans: I have to dream about this and let you know.

Memorable Teachers: They were a unique bunch..Mr. V Gibbs, DeCamp, Burns, Pine, ummm I’m losing touch..

It was neat to see Rockville HS in a state of demolition last week..

I found out about the website while SURFING.  Occupation: ATTORNEY, Spouse: CHAMARELLA

I’ve been following this newsletter since I was in law school.  I found it accidentally while surfing the net.  I live in Pearland, Texas (just outside Houston) with my wife Chamie and our pit bull Dottie.  No kids yet but we’re getting plenty of practice.

I have two law offices in Houston and my wife works in management for Continental Airlines here at their Houston world headquarters.  I just moved to a new house, and since I don’t want to miss the August reunion, I want to be sure someone on the committee has my office address too.  Send me something or email me!  Everyone take care and I hope to see you soon.

Teaching Pilates and practicing CranioSacral therapy. I was a serious student of capoeira for a number of years before a knee injury. Occupation: Systems Architect, Significant Other: Karen

Just an update from my last post a couple years ago. I was promoted and am now the Systems Management Architect for a large defense company. I have separated from my 2nd wife of 20 years and am getting a divorce.  But all is well. We get along OK still. But I have now met the woman of my dreams! We met in the Def Leppard Chat room! Ho Ho!! (I know what you are thinking!! But it is cool!) We talked for months and then met last summer. She lived in Indianapolis, we met every other weekend and finally she moved here this past November with her 2 children. We are very, very happy and are both looking forward to the reunion in July! I think I have not done too shabby for a guy on the most likely to fail life-be a loser list in High School!! hehe.

Well, Justin Michael Coughlin makes 3!  On October 18, 2002, I am proud to announce the birth of our third child.  Weighing in at 6 pounds 8 ounces he was my biggest baby yet.  Matthew (age 4) and Jackie (age 2) are very proud of their little brother.  Mike and I firmly believe that 3 is a charm and we found him to be the easiest baby of the three (the other 2 were great babies too).  As life never stops when you have three, I must run.

How I found out about the website? A Friend told me.
Occupation: Artist/Teacher, Significant Other: Raj

Memorable Incidents: I especially enjoyed the Variety Show and the Student Art Fairs. When I am stressed out, I love to remember the woods surrounding Peary and how I used to sneak into them during lunch and just listen to the nature.

Since High School: I have remained active as an artist and have exhibited in quite a few countries around the world. I am involved with civil and labor rights. I am becoming more and more active in helping to plan the LGBT Pride Parade and celebration overall and am specifically the Producer for the Faerie Freedom Village (www.faerievillage.com). I am involved with the Radical Faeries and am often busy with my church (Nomenus) activities. I do volunteer work to help people with AIDS. I am currently working to develop an avant-garde in San Francisco. And, finally, I am easing my way into world politics to see if I can’t make things a little quieter out there.

Future Plans: I don’t plan to become a politician, but I hope to be more involved as an artist with the formation of social policies. I would like to see our culture better embrace the possibilities for art to be stimulating and not simply decorative. I’d love to go up into space someday :-) .

Memorable Teachers: Mrs. Glass got me started early in learning the fine art of negotiation. That skill has come back to haunt me—in a good way—throughout my life. Mrs. Kanter taught me that kindness, consideration, and intelligence go a long way towards making life better for us all.

Occupation: Journalist

Memorable Incidents: Driving too fast on the way to the honor society induction and crashing the VW. The cake Sandra Guardado made smashed against the back seat, we were late, and the VW was out of commission until graduation day.

Since High School: I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Villanova University, where I edited the student newspaper and played flute and trombone in the pep band. (Which meant free tickets to all ‘Nova basketball games, including the 1985 NCAA basketball championship.) I became a reporter and worked around the country, covering sports, business and news for the Associated Press in Philadelphia. I worked at The Spartanburg S.C. Herald-Journal for a year, covering breaking news and features.  Then I moved to The Sacramento Bee to cover crime. I got my master’s degree at Ohio State University on a journalism fellowship, and then returned to The Sacramento Bee as a medical reporter. I joined the Baltimore Sun several years ago as a health reporter. I teach other journalists and have had chapters published in journalism books. I’ve been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize four times. I almost got married - but not yet - and love my job and adore Baltimore.

Memorable Teachers: The terrific English teachers: Dr. Fleeger and Mrs.  Rosen, for their intelligence, humor and kindness. Mr. Hill for his smile and telling me to stop burning the candle at both ends. And Mr.  Gibbs for bringing words and books to life - as well as the plays.

I found out about the website while cruising the web.  Occupation:

Children’s Book Editor, Significant Other: Abbe Tiger, Children: Niece - Hannah 11, Nephew - Daniel 14

Memorable Incidents: Mr.Gibbs’s English class, being in Oliver, anti-war protests, Mrs. Glass’s art class.

Since High School: I went to Stony Brook in NY and graduated with a BA degree in English Literature. I’ve been editing children’s books and writing for the past 26 years. I just had my first piece of Young Adult fiction published in an anthology with Simon and Schuster this fall. I also studied improvisational acting with Chicago City Limits. For the past six years I’ve been doing serious choral singing. And since college have traveled extensively through Europe. As an editor, I frequently speak at conferences, and have traveled all over this country.

Future Plans: I’d like to continue doing what I’m doing now.

Memorable Teacher: Mr. Gibbs without a doubt was the teacher who had the greatest impact on my life. His very extensive vocabulary/spelling tests broadened my understanding and appreciation of language in profound ways. It was the beginning of my understanding language and loving the roots of words, and using words with precision. He was phenomenal with teaching literature. Our study of Steinbeck, Faulkner, and Hemingway showed me how to look critically at authors and appreciate their various styles. I especially loved Steinbeck and the social consciousness that permeated his stories. In my work now I am still reminded of the ways Mr. Gibbs showed us how to look at details in books—and in movies. I can remember watching Greta Garbo’s hand gestures, and watching the significance of a pair of boots in the movie, All Quiet at the Western Front. He was demanding like no other teacher—his class was the only real learning experience I had in high school. He was the only teacher at Peary who ever really had me engaged in my work!

Memorable Incidents: It was all so fabulous that I could never pick one over the other.

Since High School: Designing clothes, particularly Elvis jumpsuits, as my husband is an Elvis impersonator. We spend many weekends traveling to his competitions and I am proud to say that he has quite a trophy collection. Oh, does he ever look fabulous in salmon!

My spare time includes designing new clothing lines, spending time with my family and my two dachshunds, Mitiz and Helga, volunteering at the synagogue and relaxing at the Mik-Vah and enjoying my oceanfront home.  Also, I’m quite the jock.

Future Plans: To continue to enjoy the good life. Oy!!!!!

I moved to Potomac at the end of junior year and, although I graduated from Churchill, but will always a husky at heart. Cruising up and down Falls Road could never hold a candle to the cruises up and down Bauer Drive.

My mother, Dorothy Kraybill, passed away on March 3, 2003.  She was the mother of me (Cindy Kraybill, class of 67), Linda Kraybill Asper, class of 63, and David Kraybill, class of 69).  Many of you Peary graduates knew her because she was very active at Peary High School.  She started the American Field Service chapter at Peary. And she was always very active in fundraisers for the school.  But she may have been best known as an ardent Husky supporter:  she was always available to have her car decorated and drive the cheerleaders or fans to the games.  She was a wonderful, supportive mother who made our house always welcome to friends.  Her memorial service was March 7 in Olney, Maryland.  Much to my surprise Miss Thomas and Mr. Hill attended and spoke about her dedication to Peary High.  You can’t imagine how great a feeling it was to have them at the service.  We spoke afterwards about the incredible bond those of us who went to Peary have.  It truly is unique.
