Carol Hecker Nason <tzippi@juno.com>
(1979) Occupation:
Optometrist Spouse: Michael, Children: Samuel 8, Livia 6, Abigail 4 Memorable
Incidents: I guess anything related to Poms stands out most since it was
so all-encompassing; that and Mr. Thomas of course. Since
High School: What have I been doing since Peary?
Started out very slow at MC and became a medical assistant for a
few years. Loved taking
blood, giving shots, and doing x-rays and stuff - good and gory. Went
back to school to become an Optometrist, where I also met my husband, and
received my doctorate in 1992 from the top school in the country in the
top 10% of my class (VERY different study habits from high school, LOL, as
many of you may remember - geeze was I lazy in high school!).
Was recruited immediately to a staff position at Bascom Palmer Eye
Institute (part of University of Miami Medical School) where I staffed my
own clinic and taught ophthalmologists and ophthalmology/medical students. We lived on Key Biscayne (East of Miami) at that time.
We then moved to the suburbs of West Palm Beach 6 years ago where I
now work part time in my own practice in Lake Worth and bring up our
children full-time. Future
Plans: Hmmmm, to continue on with work, PTA, making sure the kids grow up
with good moral values - after that? Who knows? Memorable
Teacher: Mr. Thomas of course. He
was so warm, gentle and intelligent, a true father figure to us Poms.
I would be ecstatic if my daughters found interest in a club with a
sponsor like him, who taught about the importance of morality, teamwork,
and hard work to young women. What could be more impressive in this day and age?
He was a man before his time. From:

into the investment business and now work for the Smithsonian Institution.
I received my master’s in finance from George Washington
University. Memorable

(1966) hello,
peary people ! JOE MONTO
class 66 . I found out about web site thru other alumni and like it a lot.
Always wanted to sing and have continued since peary to do so. Spent 5
lousy, unproductive years in the army. the states, germany and vietnam
where I left my heart and where I got to see firsthand how war destroys a
lot more than your body and mind. I spent good days in germany in the
signal corps, And playing music and touring with some wonderful people.
After the army I married Mary ann conglio a barbers daughter from
georgtown d.c. We have two kids, phil and teresa, and 5 grandkids; kayla,
collin, alyssa, travis, and tyler AND they a lot of joy for my wife and i.
I went to college briefly to take studies in music education, but
dropped out and have worked as a barber now for 31 years. Yet have
continued vocal studies on an off since 1972.
I work in a barbershop in olney, m.d. where elvis, ricky nelson,
and all the great rockers are still heard;
we present local talent on the weekends, and costumers love it.
Write to me I will answer. talk

Mannion, a 1967 graduate of B-CC and an old friend of Georgia Bright’s
(class of 1968) would like to hear from any of Georgia’s friends or

Rich would love to hear from any of Georgia’s classmates who were
friendly with Georgia during high school or knew about Georgia’s life
after she left high school. Sharon Beitzel was one of Georgia’s friends that Rich
remembers meeting; if anyone is in touch with Sharon, please have her

husband, Ted, and I are the proud parents of a beautiful daughter.
Maya Lili Gakidis was born on March 10, 2002. She was 7 pounds 8
ounces and 20 inches long at birth. I am enjoying every minute of
motherhood! I had no idea that it would be so magical!! I took a leave of
absence from work until September, but cannot imagine leaving my bundle of
joy with a stranger while I go back to work. I am
still living in Massachusetts. I have fond memories of my Peary years.
We were so crazy and had a lot of fun. Now that I have a daughter,
it is scary to think of her doing what we did in our youth...it seems like
only yesterday. All of a sudden you blink and you are 36 years old!!

(1975) Hello
Friends & Family, The
fight between Vargas & Del La Hoya is finally going to become a
reality Sept 14th on HBO-PPV at the Mandalay Bay Casino in
Vegas. Most of you know that this fight has been postponed twice do to
Oscar delaying it for one reason or another (Dec. 2nd & May
4th). Needless to say Vargas has been ready each time and will
be again on Sept. 14th. This
fight is expected to be one of the top fights of the year. I am
back in the Big Bear with the Vargas and the team. Oscar is also in BB one
block away from the Vargas camp. They occasionally cross paths at the
local Sushi bar in town. “Bad Blood”, is the theme of the fight and
that is a very accurate description of these two World Champions. We train
twice a day 6 days a week. If you have never boxed I can’t begin to
explain the physical demands and most people can’t appreciate what those
demands are until you personally go 1 or 2 rounds in the ring! I
hope everyone had an enjoyable 4th of July. One Important note,
my mother in-law (Kaz’s mother) had pancreatic surgery last Friday.
Well, it was a success and a miracle at the same time! The Doctor’s had
her do 10 weeks of chemo & radiation to shrink the cancer and then
performed the whipple (sp) procedure
which successful extracted the cancer. She is doing well in recovery.
Thanks for all the prayers and support. JC
turned 2 years old July 5th and he is getting BIGGER by the
hour! Could
be offensive line material or heavy weight wrestler. Good
health to all & God Bless DAD ... “Doc”
