1982 UPDATE/DETAILS: It’s A Weekend Extravaganza!  The cost is $75/person.  Enjoy a weekend of catching up with old friends and reminiscing about good times gone by.

The itinerary is as follows:

Friday, July 19th: Casual gathering at Summit Station in Gaithersburg.  Billie Jo (Joseph) Phucas’s band, The Distractions will be playing, beginning at 9:00pm.

Saturday, July 20th: “Come as you like” to the reunion at the Doubletree Rockville, from 7:00 pm to midnight.  Dress is whatever you want it to be (except jeans); dressy or casual-you decide.  Open bar will be provided from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and then you’re on your own. There will be plenty of food and dancing, so come prepared!  For you night owls, Polly Esther’s is in the hotel and open until 2:00 a.m.  Find a way to make it there.

Sunday, July 21st: Family picnic at Lake Needwood at 12:00 noon.  Bring your family and your own food and beverage.  (No alcohol allowed, per park regulations.)  Come rain or shine.

Participate in the Class of ‘82 Slide Show.  Send us your (digital/scanned) photos from high school and beyond.... Whatever is special to you.  Email your pictures to peary82@hotmail.com (no hard copies please) by July 1. And BE SURE TO LABEL THEM, i.e., who is in the pictures and their significance.  Mailings will be sent in early June.

CHAT ROOM: A reminder that a Peary chat area is available online for all alumni, courtesy of Steven Mohr (1967), at www.nevadagold.net.  This is ideal for reunion organizers for online meetings.

1966 LADIES: The next luncheon will be held at Chili’s Restaurant in Gaithersburg on June 22 at 12:30.  RSVP to Gale Senseman Privette at gale7@juno.com.

BRAD OSCAR: Did some of you catch 1982’s Brad Oscar performing with Stephen Webber on the Rosie O’Donnell show May 14th, with a tune from the Producers (which Brad stars in on Broadway)?  Lori Westcott (1983) did and say’s “he was great!”  Of course he was... he’s a Peary grad!  Thanks, Lori!

UPDATES: Mailing address updates, use the “Sign-Up/Update” link at MSO.  E-mail address updates (only), use the “Update already-listed E-mail” link.  Please help keep your classes stay updated.  There are typically 50-80 bounces from the newsletter each month.  Addresses that aren’t valid (or continually over quota) are removed from the listings and class distributions after two consecutive-month failures.

DONATIONS TO MSO: Thank you to the few who sent financial support to the MSO this past month!  Many may have noticed that a secure server is now in-place to provide additional security when donating online with a Visa or MasterCard.  Save a check and a stamp, and time!  Click on any “Donations” link, enter a card number and amount, and submit.  It takes 2 minutes.  There are still more than 3,300 Peary alums that are signed-on to the MSO that we have never heard from as this project approaches its 6-year mark.  Thank you for your consideration.

50-50 Raffles at class events, sales of Peary Huskies polo shirts (photo & order form online), and sales of the “Find a Way or BAKE one” cookbook (contact Anna Nicolaisen, gnicol@erols.com) help MSO, too!

Enjoy the summer,
Bob Lau, Editor/Webmaster

P.S. If you wish to reply or comment, please don’t quote this entire newsletter back to us... create a new e-mail to blau@viawest.net.  Hundreds of e-mails are received each month to MSO... the more concise your correspondence is, the quicker we can process and respond.  Thanks!
