It doesn’t seem that long ago since I graduated from high school. And now my oldest is. Sure makes one wonder where the years have gone.

My husband, Tom, and I are very fortunate that our son Chris has a lot of options ahead of him. His SAT’s (1330) and sports (Wrestling and Soccer) have allowed him plenty of opportunities. He was named to the “Indiana State Soccer Association All Academic team”. And as any soccer fan can tell you, Indiana won the National Championship!  He is hoping he will become a West Point Cadet but if not have a number of options.  Our middle son, Bryan also plays soccer, as a goalie. Made Varsity as a Sophomore! He is 16 and wants to drive but doesn’t seem to have the drive to get the grades. No good student discount, no license. Our youngest is 10, thinks of Maryland as a place for beaches.  I agree and miss it terribly.

To everyone who has stayed in Maryland ... Appreciate the beaches so close, the seafood, so good, the mountains so close. You are at the hub of so many things. Take a minute to appreciate it. When you are away you will miss it.

A lot of people who went to Peary with me know my dad Jim.  He was always a fixture at many football games, track meets, parties and

getting some of us out of trouble (aka - jail)......Well, he is now 65 and just had major open heart surgery.  Always a “busy” guy, he is now forced to slow down a bit.  About 2 years ago, he finally got an email address.  He still wants to print them all out to file in his file cabinet, but he’s doing OK with keeping up with the times for an old guy.  If anyone would like to say hello, I am sure he would love to hear from anyone in the old gang from 1978, 1979 or 1980 classes.  His email address is: wagskay@aol.com

Thanks,

Grant

How I found out about the website?  Received letter from Cindy (Libby) Saunders about 3 years ago and just found it.  I’m a recent addict of the Internet.

Occupation: House wife and mother, Spouse: Mike, Children: Katie Leigh - 4years old - DOB: 5-4-96. That’s It, no more.

Memorable Incidents: attending Bryan’s football games,

Since High School: Moved to Texas my senior year and lost touch with everyone.  Lived in Plano for 8 years, then moved to Ft. Myers, FL in 1986.  Met my husband in 1987, got married in 1989, had our only child in 1996.  For the last 7 years I have been taking care of my mother who was stricken with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in 1991.  Lost my father in 1998 due to liver failure.  My life as it stands right now is pretty boring accept for my husband and daughter.  They keep me going.  I put my mother into a nursing home last May due to a very big load of responsibility in taking care of her full time (she is completely disabled). It just wasn’t fair to Mike and Katie plus I was losing my fricken mind.  After school starts in August for Katie I will venture back out into the world of working. Yea!!!

Future Plans: Start having fun again!!!! I will talk to anyone from the 1980 alumni over the internet.  This thing is great.  My Christmas present last year from Mike was to get up and running on this thing.  What a god send.  I have started a small business out of the home decorating cakes.  Maybe my future plans are to get a website and advertise my business in SW Florida.  I’m really good.

Memorable Teachers: None that come to mind.

Hello,

My name is Brent Stoney and I was just looking at the Peary High web site and must say I was impressed.  I am really glad that Peary can live on via the Internet.  I went to Rockville High and graduated in 1997, but as a kid always tried to find a more challenging way to break into Peary (which the MCPS allowed to rot and probably house drifters and drug addicts).  I was trying to find RHS alumni info but was saddened to see that there really was nothing too exciting out there.  You probably know that Peary has been reborne as a Hebrew Day School, I believe (not sure because I have been in NC for 4 years at school), so finally the grounds look respectable and are now safe.  Oh yeah one more thing before I go, do you remember the bike path behind Peary, or at least Oriental Ave.?  Well if so I am sorry to say that one of my neighbors who lived on Drake Dr. was tragically murdered as she took an afternoon jog about a month ago.  Well sorry for the depressing story but I just wanted to say good job on the site and good luck in the future!

Sincerely,

Brent Stoney
