How I found out about the website? I visited John Miller (class of ‘75) in Nebraska and he told me.  Occupation: medical doctor – Diagnostic Radiology, Spouse: Cindy, Children: Lindsey 5yrs. old

Memorable Incidents: good times, rock n’ roll, and muscle cars

Since High School: My family moved out of the PHS area at the end of 10th grade. I graduated from Wootton High School.  I, however, remember many people at PHS since we went to Aspen Hill Elementary and Wood Jr.  High together.

After high school, I went to the College of Wooster.  I got a B.A. in chemistry.  I then worked at the National Cancer Institute as (you guessed it) a chemist.  I was considering a PhD but then tried to get into medical school.  That was tough.  I finally got in at the Chicago Medical School in Illinois.  I did my residency in Diagnostic Radiology.  After that, I did a fellow- ship at the University of Chicago and Northwestern in CT, MRI, and US. Med. school to fellowship took 10 years!  Not including undergrad.

I started a job in the Chicago area, which was not quite what I expected.  I ended up in western Illinois.  I have been here for the last few years and enjoy it very much.

I got married in 1991.  We have one girl named Lindsey and she just started kindergarten.  That reminded me of the old days in Aspen Hill Elementary.  I found out about the site through John Miller (‘75). I recently saw him in York, Nebraska where he lives.  Yes, there is life in Nebraska - and we even had a great time.

Future Plans: I plan to keep being a radiologist.  Be a good father.  I have 2 GTO’s.  The 1965 is complete.  I’m trying to finish the 1966 GTO, which is a convertible.  We just got at auction a small 4-acre farm.  We are fixing the barn and farmhouse on the property.  That is a never-ending project!! Lots of work. Next maybe farm animals.  Never thought I would do that!

Memorable Teachers:  I remember Mr. Heard (Spanish) for the wild class that it was.  And there is Mr. Proett who taught the use of the slide ruler (remember?) and taught calculus.  I wish to thank Ms. Woodward for typing I - which allowed me to type this e-mail.  Unfortunately, my typing, spelling, and speed have not improved since that class.

I remember PHS very well.  I grew up at the corner of Aspen Hill and Arctic.  Every day I would pass by the school.  Me, and a lot of others would always be doing something (lets not say what) around there.

Subject:  Peary-Wheaton Reunion of 60s Grads

To Peary 60s grads:  If you are interested in a Peary/Wheaton reunion of 60s grads, don’t forget to let Reid Roberts (Wheaton ‘64) or me know.  Reid has set up and email mailing list and the first message has already gone out to all those Peary and Wheaton folks who have contacted him in the past month.  In the latest update Reid tells us that he is having a patio constructed on the side of his restaurant and if the weather cooperates when we meet on April 21, we can have an outdoor cocktail party on the new patio.  You can contact Reid at Memchhouse@aol.com or by going to his restaurant website (www.MemoriesCharcoalHouse.com) and clicking on the button that says “contact us.”  Or you can send me an email and I will see that your address is added to our mailing list.  Reid tells me he already has had a very good response from the WHS folks.  But we’d like to see some more Peary folks names added to the list, so don’t forget to let us know if you are interested.  After November 1st, there will also be news about this event posted on the restaurant website in the section called “upcoming events.”  Even if you aren’t sure yet if you will be able to attend on April 21, 2001, why not sign up anyway so that you will receive the email updates and learn more about the details.  I know from past experience that most of you are procrastinators when it comes to this sort of thing, but just take a minute right now to contact me or Reid so we can add your name to the list.  I hope we will hear from more of you this month.
