INTRODUCTION Greetings
Huskies: CONDOLENCES:
Dorann Zlotnick Penney’s (1970) father - Chuck Penney’s (1970)
father-in-law - passed away on September 20, 2000.
Services were held in Olney September 22. ROCKY
MOUNTAIN 3rd Annual “PHS West” Crab Feast: Another successful western event
was held at the Longmont, CO home of Nikki Wantling (1985). See Ron Bostwick’s (1977) summary in this newsletter. NEW
SECTION ON MSO?
Probable! A new area
is being constructed. A few
have expressed an interest in organizing a reunion or other events
specifically for Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Trans alumni.
Talk about it, come up with some ideas, volunteer, and let me know! CLASSES
OF 1976 and 1977: To assist us in our snail-mailed survey regarding a
possible joint reunion in Las Vegas in spring 2002, there is now a link on
the main page for you to confirm your mailing address with us so that we
don’t waste postage and so you’ll receive the survey and information. Your input counts a lot, so please use the online form,
linked from the main page of MSO, to send/confirm your mailing address,
please, to ensure that you receive the info in the mail.
Thanks to those who have already noticed this and submitted (gee,
it was just created last night). Again,
this event does not preclude the respective classes from organizing a
one-night dinner/dance event in Rockville if the more-traditional
celebration is a must. All
Peary alumni, from all classes, will be invited to hop-aboard the discount
rates of the package(s) for a Las Vegas getaway vacation...
2nd honeymoon, family vacation, shows, gambling,
marriage, divorce... including
optional trips to Hoover Dam, Hollywood, and the Grand Canyon. PEARYGEAR
REMINDER:
PearyGear.com is available to supply all of your “Husky” needs for
your alumni events from t-shirts to hats and mugs.
Proceeds help support the Alumni Association. ROBERT
E. PEARY H.S. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION:
General Meeting and Election of Officers, Wednesday October 11,
7:00 pm at the Berman Academy (Peary Building).
See the details in this newsletter or visit the Association site at
www.pearyalum.org. CORRECTION:
In the 4th Anniversary issue last month, it was incorrectly
reported that were “almost-4,000” listed online with MSO. It should have been “3,000”—just anticipating!
There are 3,156 alumni in the MSO listings (as of 9/25/00). The
deadline for the next issue of the Midnight Sun Online is Saturday October
28. “Submit an Article”
or “Sign-Up/Update” on the MSO website to let your classmates know
what you’ve been up to. The
Midnight Sun Online is an alumni-supported project.
11% of the alums listed online have voluntarily donated thus far
the past four years - thank you! If
you’ve enjoyed the news, reunion information, and hooking-up again with
lost friends, maybe throw a few bucks towards the project to assist in
costs of hosting the MSO site the next time you open your checkbook, as
there are no corporate sponsors making all of it happen, and MSO will
never become a subscription-based operation.
Thank you for your consideration of a donation to keep the MSO
alive. Details
about donating are online at the website. Bob
Lau, Editor/Webmaster All
photos and print materials should be mailed to: The Midnight Sun Online -
3428 Winterhaven Street, Suite 201 Las Vegas, NV 89108-5055.
