From:
Donald Metzger <metz44@qwestonline.com>
(1973) I
found out about the website from Rick Macklin, class of ‘75.
Occupation:
Senior Systems Engineer Spouse: Cindy (Macklin, 1974), Memorable
Incidents: The Rowdies, lunch periods, The great times passing friends in
the hallway. Being in the
Deca club with Riley Harper and going to California for the National Deca
Conference. Since
High School: Joined the army for 3 years.
Got married to my wonderful wife, Cindy Macklin from the class of
‘74. Worked for the
Government, Vitro, EDS, and now TYCO Electronics.
Spending time with 3 lovely children. Future
Plans: My dream is to retire to a houseboat and travel the intercoastal
waterway. Memorable
Teachers: Mr. Brogonia because he always challenged me beyond what I was
willing to give. Mr.
Williams, PE coach, because he was always a great encouragement to me.
Mr. Wick from DECA, because he provided real life experiences,
unlike some teachers. Finally,
does anyone remember, I think her name was Mrs. Clark, she blew her cork,
came into the school in combat boots and pulled the fire alarm? Of course, we will never forget Dr. Dunn in his grey suit. From:
Jan Zlotnick <jan@thezlotnickgroup.com>
(1973) I
know this is a few years later, but I never found out if anyone at the
hotel for our 25th Reunion got my faxed Regrets and toast to
the class of 1973. The hotel
manager assured me it was received, but I always wondered. I was sorry to
miss the good time and hope to make up for it at the 30th in
2003. Anyway here’s my update: First,
before they scroll down and miss this: Hello (and where the hell are you?)
Ken and Diane Brace (email me!). To John McGovern: I’m kinda sick you
and if it weren’t for your beautiful wife and kids, wouldn’t bother;
by the way, John, does it still hurt where Applegate kicked you when you
were already tackled and out of bounds at Wheaton? That’ll teach you to
jump ship and kick our asses in the final game! To John Applegate: Does it
hurt you more? To Dave Baker: Remember the Shipwreck in O.C.? Probably
not, thanks to Millers in your cereal when there was no milk in the fridge
(as if it mattered about the milk). To Lynn Studley: You really did wear
your Dad’s dress shirts to class (and nothing else), right? To Scott
Wood: your military career got its first preparations on those late night
invasions of Rocky’s house on Adrian Street, am I correct soldier? To
Sue O: Thanks for showing me. To David Schmookler: Man, I’d love to have
a beer with you. To David’s parents: You, like David, Sandy, and Michael
(and the Bermans) were huge and loving influences on my young life: thanks
for making your home and football field-backyard a paradise of fun. To
Janice Stillwagon, who was supposed to stop by and see me in New York:
Your martini is stirred and waiting. Family:
Married to Melanie Kartzman, the woman I fell in love with while living in
Los Angeles from 1978-1980. My oldest son, Jared, 17, is a senior at James
Caldwell High School and is applying to colleges; Tyler, 14, is entering
high school. Putting this down in writing to you, my high-school
classmates, makes it all seem surreal, but it’s a dream I love living in
real time. So, bring it on. Career:
After 20 years as a writer and creative director at various advertising
agencies, I sold my shares this year in the agency I founded in 1995 and
got to the core of the thing I love to do best: to rethink problems and
strategize solutions. The Zlotnick Group, located in the Tribeca section
of New York City, in lower Manhattan, is a strategic-creative “rethink
tank.” We rethink and develop brand positioning for dot-coms and
traditional b+m’s, and then go the traditional consultancy one better:
we develop and execute/produce the communications plans, producing an
integrated media plan of websites, TV commercials, outdoor, and guerrilla
(street-up buzz) events. The
truth is: I don’t miss Peary High School...because there are few days,
if any, that I don’t take a look beside me and see that it’s right
there with me. It wasn’t just a time and place: it is who we are. Jan
Zlotnick, 1973 From:

Kathryn Poulsen Dorshimer <katnduane@twave.net>
(1985/Summer 1984) I
have had a heck of a year so far, so I just wanted to write in an update. I had been living with my boyfriend (Duane) of 5 years, we
talked about getting married, but hadn’t really gotten around to it.
We found out early this year that I was pregnant.
Both of us were very excited about becoming parents, and we were
planning on getting married anyway, so we ran off to the Outer Banks in NC
and got married in April. We
now have a healthy baby boy - Grant William Dorshimer.
He was born on August 11th, and weighed in at 8 lbs. 8
oz. Both my husband and I
could use some more sleep, but he has made such an incredible addition to
our lives. Thanks
to my friends in the class of 85 for your thoughts and prayers.
We
are all doing great! From:
Barbara Brooks Wilson <jlbswilson@dls.net>
(1983) I
found out about the website from my twin sister, Linda Brooks Toman. Occupation:

our daughter Jackie was born. We
now live outside Chicago and are enjoying it here except we miss our
family in Maryland and my husband misses the crab feasts!! I am now
selling Mary Kay cosmetics while enjoying being able to raise our children
full time at home. Anyone
interested in ordering any skin care or cosmetics can order from my
website [see Alumni Links at MSO]. I
will mail orders free of charge. Future
Plans: Just to be the best godly mom/wife I can be.
When my husband gets done building our plane, to be able to fly
home to Maryland more than just once a year! Memorable

will always remember him saying, “You lie like a rug.” Other

(1983) Hi my
name is Patrick Casteel class of 83 I would like to thank those you
emailed me and give a little update as to my condition, It has been one
Year since I had my Heart Attack and Bypass surgery I am doing fairly well
now keeping all doctors orders. I have had diabetes for the last 7 years
(type II) and I now have better control with the use of Insulin. The
reason I am writing this artical is to make people aware that anyone can
suffer a heart attack. Over
the last six years I have had 3 people I know die of this disease (Heart
failure) and the reason they past away was failure to notice the symptoms
of a heart attack. I can’t believe the last thing they saw was the
toilet because one of the signs that your having a heart attack is
vomiting which is what they did before passing out unable to call for
help. People
need to have a better understanding of what the symptoms are in order to
save there lives there are many sources of information the internet is the
biggest (http://webmd.lycos.com/content/dmk/dmk)
you could even ask someone like myself I am now a wealth of information
about diabetes and heart disease. At
any age health should be a concern diseases like this are hitting all age
ranges please be an informed person it’s your life and many will miss
you! From:

(1982) I
recently had the pleasure of going to Wolf Trap Theater and seeing the
play “ Annie “. It was a wonderful play made even better by the fact
that someone who went to our school was one of the stars. Although I
really do not know Vick Oscar ( class of ‘84 I think ) very well. I was
proud to see someone who I “ grew up with,” doing something that she
obviously loved and doing it so well. From: JEANNIE EILLEEN BROWN RHODES <JER926@yahoo.com>
