I found out about the website from the ‘65 class reunion newsletter.

Occupation: Attorney/VP, Norsk Hydro Americas, Spouse: Bill, Children: Charlie - Age 32, Zachary - Age 22

Memorable Incidents: Phyllis Magrab’s trip to New York; Mr. Gibbs teaching us opera; My Fair Lady and Of Thee I Sing; Sans Souci; Dr. Dunn forcing us to use that dog - King in everything; John Hutchison pitching a no-hitter; Mark Mathis giving a “State of the School” address; Kris Vander Weyden singing “Do You Love Me”; Ronnie Prue as a cheerleader.

Since High School: After college, we lived in Germany for 2 years, then moved to Colorado.  I went to law school there, worked for Governor Lamm doing environmental law, and had our second child.  Since 1986, we’ve lived in Florida.  Both boys are in college and we recently moved from the beach to Tampa.  Last year I started a new job with a Norwegian company and love the international law work.  I travel to Oslo a lot.  I’m still with my original husband - Bill.  I’m a semi-bad golfer (but trying to get better) and we recently renovated a 1920’s home.  No grandkids yet (at least none that I know about!)

Future Plans: I’ll probably stop working when it stops being fun, then we’ll travel.  Continue with charity work that I do, maybe run for political office.  Life is always full of surprises.

Memorable Teachers: Vincent Gibbs - he taught me to love the arts, something that has stayed with me.  Phyllis Magrab - the most challenging, and best, teacher I had.  She was so committed to the students.  We all scored well on the verbal SAT because of her vocabulary tests.

I wish our kids and grandkids could go to a school like Peary, where the major problems were kids smoking in the bathroom and wearing their skirts too short.

Subject:  death in family

We have a bit of bad news, my nephew (Matthew Casteel) not 4 months old passed away last night, the cause of death is not certain as of yet. He was found in his crib already deceased. He was born about 3-4 weeks early and is the child of my sister Brenda Casteel who also has two other children. Matthew was born to her by way of emergency caesarian section and he was too small to go home for about three weeks, plus needed some surgical work during that time. It has been a bad few months for my family after my heart ordeal and the bad time my sister had with Matthew and now his death. Please pray for my family, Donna Burke, Robert Casteel - class of 81. We will all miss Matthew Casteel 2000.

Thank You

The response has been GREAT

Hope you’ve made it a date

Looking forward to seeing friends

That we knew back then.

IF you set it aside

and still trying to decide

Just make it a go—

And send in your dough!

We’ve heard from so many

that complain they’re not skinny

They use to have hair

That ain’t now there

Breast and Buns that have gone south

Even have wrinkles around my mouth

Our kids all have kids, and that ain’t all

NOW we’re called grand maw and grand paw.

But we’re smarter and wiser than we were back then

It’s so great to catch up and relate to a friend

Sharing and laughing, discussing the past

New friendships will be made that will forever last

Through all these years

Through the joys and tears

Have made us stronger

To Live much longer

Friends are for sharing

Can’t replace the caring

As the time has passed

We’ve realized at last

More of what life’s about

Without a doubt

THAT IT’S WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE

AND NOT THE OUT.

Really looking forward to a FABULOUS weekend and seeing everyone.  If you haven’t yet responded we’d love to hear from you.

The 63, 64 & 65 reunion committee  ;)
