INTRODUCTION Greetings
Huskies: Happy New Year! MSO
“Special Edition”: The Robert E. Peary High School Alumni
Association has requested a distribution of a Special Edition of the
Midnight Sun Online newsletter that contains details about the association
and its plans for Homecoming 2000 this June.
Watch for this in your e-mail inbox immediately following. ENGAGEMENT:
Congratulations to Jeff Lindblad and Terri Cohea, both Class of
1971, who are engaged to be married this summer!
Amongst other reasons (we’re sure), the Midnight Sun Online
project played a role in reuniting these alums online. SYMPATHY:
We’re sad to inform you that Mrs. Engle passed-away last year, on
Christmas day. Also, Charles
Husband, father of 1969 alumna Thelma Husband Glowacki, passed away
suddenly this past Saturday. Details
follow. We extend condolences
to the families on behalf of all who knew them.
We just received a notice that Louis Cadeau (1980) passed-away last
week. PRAYERS:
Barbara Greenberg Rosenberg, Class of 1981, has been diagnosed with
Cancer. Please see sister
Janet’s (1978) submission in this newsletter, and where to send your
get-wells. Midnight
Sun Online: In just a little over three years, the “MSO” has
acquired listings of more than 2,500 alumni from grad years 1963-86.
Thanks for continuing to spread the word, and for all of your
support. Let’s get the
other 8,000 or so who passed through those hallways online with us! CLASS
ONLINE COORDINATORS: Still
seeking an individuals from the Class of 1975 to
continue the work of Lisa Huntington Padilla... to maintain
classmate info collected online for the class.... organized,
fully-functional (unlimited/ unrestricted) e-mail account, 1-2 hours a
month (est.), and html editing skill helpful. Lisa
will continue as 1975 online coordinator until someone is found to replace
her and who has some time to assist Betty Lopez and Connie Scuderi
Gallerizzo with the 25-year reunion planning.
There is no “Missing Persons” list online yet for the class. The Class of 1974 info section online has needed updating... there have been no volunteers for a few months, now. If
you’re interested in volunteering, let us know! NEWSLETTERS:
After a brief hiatus, Laura Vandevender Collins (1973) is back to coding
our newsletters for online archiving and recently got about a year’s
worth of backlog caught-up for the MSO.
Thanks, Laura! TRIVIA
CORNER: Peary is probably the only high school in the country that can
claim two alums as Sportscasters for CNN.
Lee Zeidman, Class of ‘74, was one of the four original
sportscasters when CNN launched in 1980 (with Nick Charles, Fred Hickman
and Bob Kurtz); Paul Runnels, Class of ‘78, arrived at CNN in 1990 and
is still there! REUNIONS:
Planning continues for next year’s reunions... the classes of
63-65 (joint event, August), 1970 (July), 1975 (TBD), and 1980 (August).
Please check-out the classes’ “missing persons” lists online
and let them know of anyone that may help hunt these folks down...
siblings, friends, spouse, employer, married name—even city/state would
help! The
deadline for the February issue of the Midnight Sun Online is Saturday
February 19th. Use
the “Article Submission” link on the website to let your classmates
know what you’ve been up to, or simply complete your class-specific
update form if we haven’t heard from you in a while! Bob
