Bill Bedenbaugh <bill.bedenbaugh@oscsystems.com>
(1970) Occupation:
Mechanical Designer, Spouse: Maria Nicholson Bedenbaugh Memorable
Incidents: At wrestling practice (when I was in 10th grade) I
got tied up in a double jock-lock by the upper classmen. I was then
dragged out of the wrestling room into the gym where the cheerleaders were
practicing. I was able to get myself out of that bind and used the
experience in getting out of tight situations since then. Note: A double
jock-lock is having your feet pulled behind you, wrapping the waistband
over them, and having your shoe laces knotted together. Since
High School: Two years at Montgomery College.
Transferred and graduated from Frostburg State College.
Played soccer all four years of college and continued with amateur
and semi-pro teams in Washington. Was
drafted by the Wahsington Diplomats in 1974.
I wasn’t signed but trained with them for about a 1 ½ yrs.
Travelled to England, Germany, and Jamaica with my club team. Great sporting and cultural experiences.
In 1987, I participated in an Earthwatch expedition for glacier
study in Norway. Two weeks of
camping below the glaciers and aiding in the collection of data for
studying the climate and its impact on the cycle of glacier development.
In January 1988, I married Maria Nicholson(71) and got a wonderful
step-son (Marcus). In
December of that year, Lauren was born.
I am very happy and proud of my family. In 1994, it was discovered
that I had a brain tumor. It
was a benign meningeoma. It was located behind my left eye, and wrapped
around the nerves controlling the movement of the eye and wrapped around
the internal carotid artery. It
took three surgeries to remove the tumor and do a bypass on the artery.
My wife Maria was a true love in helping me get through all of
that. She was the key figure, but was not alone with the loving thoughts
of my family and friends. This
really places the double jock-lock in its proper perspective. Future
Plans: Live with my family. Memorable
Teachers: Bob Pine and Ed Burlas. My
coaches for soccer and wrestling, who maintained the ethics of honesty,
hard work, and team effort that I was taught by my parents. From:
JEFF HARRIS <jeffh07064@aol.com>
(1966) I found out about the website from another Peary alumni. Occupation: Memorable
Incidents: I prefer to continue to protect the guilty and the innocent and
keep the incidents to myself. I
do have many good memories of the high school years. Since
High School: Working my butt off to put two kids through college with a
third on the way and trying to accumulate enough to retire before I am 85
years old. Memorable
Teacher: Mrs. Luck (my home room teacher) I saw her every day for four
years while in school. I
remember my senior year and her asking me for a note from my parents to
excuse the 20 some days I had actually skipped during my final year in
high school. I got one note for all the days and she accepted it and did
not stand on my way for graduation. I
really thought a lot of her. From:
Robin L. Rosenberg Aiscowitz <NJTerpGirl7@yahoo.com>

Jean Scalzi Taney <no e-mail address submitted> (1980) I found out about the website from a classmate. Occupation: Math Since
High School: I am currently working for MCPS and in my spare time I write
middle grade fiction and free verse poetry. Future
