(1975) Occupation: Memorable
Incidents: Cross country races and the black path. Since
High School: I went to tech school and learned how to become a draftsman
and entered the mechanical engineering field in 1977. Karen Kroggel
(Kennedy 1977) and I were married in 1983. Her career with IBM took off
shortly thereafter and we’ve seen the country via IBM (I’ve Been
Moved!) We’ve lived in Cedar Rapids, IA, Denver, CO, Middlebury, CT and
now Roswell, GA. We are currently living the suburban life, 2 children,
semi-gated subdivision no SUV however, but we do own a mini-van. I was
recently hired by my church as music director. If anyone out there
remembers me they might find that last statement a stretch but I assure
you it is true. My wife and Daughters give me much pleasure. I am a happy
and lucky man. Future
Plans: Pay the bills off. Buy a condo in North Bethany Beach, Del. Collect
some really nice acoustic guitars. Memorable
Teacher: Mr. Clarke. I love History now, particularly the Civil War era.
He was able to make history come alive to me. I can honestly say it is
because of Mr. Clarke. From:

(1965) Today’s
Washington Post reported the passing, November 19, of Carol Bauer
Shattuck, 67, of Potomac, Maryland, a former music teacher in Montgomery
County Public Schools. Mrs.
Shattuck (Miss Bauer during her years at Peary) died of breast cancer at
Bethesda Naval Hospital. She
taught at Sherwood HS from 1955 to 1960 (corrected from 1964 as reported
in The Post), and at Peary HS from 1960 (also corrected) to 1970.
[Miss Bauer was head of the Music Department and Choral Director at
REPHS during my time there from 60-65.] Mrs.
Shattuck was born in Dayton, Ohio, and grew up in the Washington area. She was a graduate of Montgomery Blair HS and Western
Maryland College. She
received a master’s degree in music from Michigan State University. In
1970, she married A.B. Shattuck, an Army officer who later retired as a
colonel. She accompanied him
on assignments in this country and Iran and lived for a time in Arizona
before returning here. She
sang in choirs in several area churches, including St. Patrick’s
Episcopal Church in Washington. Her
hobbies included travel. In
addition to her husband, survivors include two children, Christopher
Blanchard and Mary Sylvia Shattuck, all of Potomac. A
memorial service [was] held at Faith United Methodist Church, 6810
Montrose Rd., Rockville, MD on Tuesday, November 23.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Faith United
Methodist Church for Breast Cancer Research. From:
