INTRODUCTION

Greetings Huskies:

ANNIVERSARY: It's a relatively small issue, but it's the third anniversary issue of the Midnight Sun Online! In the little over three years of this project, the MSO/web has brought together more than 2,250 Peary High School alums and provided a central place all can check-in on occasionally to get the scoop on reunions and who's doing what these days. There are about 8,000 classmates who have yet to come aboard. Some simply don't have access to the web or any kind of e-mail -- but they're out there, so thank you for continuing to spread the word. Rarely one day goes by without at least one alum finding out about MSO and submitting an update.

CONDOLENCES: To Ron Footer (1966), who lost his mom July 4th weekend. To Linda McWilliams-Groves (1968), whose father passed away July 31st. Linda was married to Waldo Groves (1966) (Waldo passed away about 7 yrs. ago.) To Melina Mahassel Bates (1985) and the Mahassel family. Melina's dad, Edward Mahassel, passed away on July 31, 1999. And to Bob Pennington (1971), whose father, Robert Sr., passed on last month. There is a submission from grandson Danny at the end of the newsletter.

THANKS: To Pat Gillespie (1967) for taking-on the painstaking process of coding the newsletters in the archives online (so they'll look nicer, of course!) - one at a time, Pat. Thanks from everyone for your assistance!

1977 40th BIRTHDAY FIELD PARTY: A reminder that the Class of 1977 will be sponsoring a field party FOR ALL PEARY ALUMS this Saturday August 28th at Libertytown Fairgrounds. Details online in the Events/Happy Hours section and/or e-mail Kenn - Booptree@aol.com OR Perry - Warden714@ad.com for more info. Happy Birthday you guys! A 50-50 Raffle will also be held at the event to assist with continuing financial support for the Midnight Sun Online project.

REUNIONS: The latest information available can be found online for the classes of 1969 and 1984. Planning continues for the joint 1963-65 reunion in 2000. Class of 1979... have a great 20-year bash this weekend! The Class of 1974 reunion was held at the end of July -- an update and some photos coming soon for posting in the 1974 section of the website.

Articles for the next issue of the Midnight Sun Online are due Saturday September 25th. Have a safe Labor day holiday. Drive carefully -- schools are back in session (gee, remember that?.... oh please, just give me one more morning of homeroom with Ms. Vadala)!
