Page 2 From: Rick Bass cwc.inc@erols.com (1970) Date: Sun, 4 Apr 1999 Subject: Update To all my fellow alumni: I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank all those alumuni who have donated, time, money etc. to keep the web site alive. I'm putting a check in the mail today to help the cause. I read the article by Terry Brooks explaining that the school will now be used for the Hebrew Academy and I'm so glad that the school is going to be used for a useful purpose, especially to teach the young, that's great. I own a residential remodeling service call Creative Wood Concepts, in Damascus, Maryland and would like to donate some of our services if we may in any way to help the effort. We have recently obtained a website, http://www.creativewoodconcepts.com/ for all those interested in our service. Again, my hats off to everyone who has help keep the spirit of Robert E. Peary High alive. It makes me proud to be a part of all this. Rick Bass (70') ********** From: Sidney C. I've been here for almost seven years doing cabaret work, scetch comedy, some off off broadway work, and lastly stand-up. (The lowest form of performing!!!trust me) I still do stand-up every once in a while when I need a kick, but as far as going from club to club every night to do my 10 minutes without pay, well... momma needs to get paid, need I say more!!! Now, for the good news, after all these years of not really going to auditions, (like I should have been doing!) I finally decided to go. So, I went to a call for the National Tour of Annie, directed by the original director, Martin Charnin. And what do ya know, I was cast as Miss Hannagan, the mean lady who runs the orphanage! (type casting!) It's a national tour, so we will be comming to a theatre near YOU!! If you see that Annie is coming to your town, make sure it's my production before you get your tickets, because there's one out right now with Sally Struthers, (feed the children!!!) unless you want to see her. NOT! We are the Networks tour of Annie, we start rehearsals middle of August and we open in Charlston, SC the middle of September. From there, we go all over the USA, until June of 2000. I'm very excited, as I have never been on tour before. It will also give me a chance to see people I haven't seen for a long time, so if we're in your neck of the woods, come see me, and definitely come back stage after the show or let me know your there somehow. Even if you don't know me personally, all you have to say is that you went to Peary! Bring your kids!!! They'll love to hate me!! I'm not looking foward to being away from my partner for 10 months, but, great loves have survived worse things, and it's something that I'm going to have to get use to in this business! Fortunately, I have all the support in the world, and I feel very lucky in that respect. So, this is my update, and an exciting one for me at that. My brother Brad Oscar class of '82 is still on Broadway in Jekyl and Hyde and is doing very well. The ultimate will be when the Oscars win Oscars! That will be a front page story! I will be disconnecting my aol account at the end of July, beginning of August as I can't see paying for a service I'm not using! I think I'll get a cell phone, I'll use that!! Anyway, I just wanted to share my news, and get you guys to come out and see me in action! Hope all are well! Victoria Oscar |
