INTRODUCTION

Greetings Huskies!

GET WELL SOON: Diane Bonanno (1971) recently had back surgery and will be out-of-commision for a month... then a back brace for three months. We'll see Diane back out on the dance floor soon!

Our thoughts are with Lori Shollenberger Comeau (1977) and Tom Comeau (1976). Lori's mom was recently diagnosed with cancer.

We pray for continued speedy recoveries for Mrs. Leimbach, and to Mrs. Sharron Laurienzo. In addtion, Mr. Leimbach entered the hospital this month for by-pass surgery. Continued prayers for these parents of several of our classmates.

MSO STATUS: THANK YOU to those of you who have generously donated to the Midnight Sun Online to help keep this operation alive. Many of you have made multiple and regular donations. This newsletter and the website will now be able to operate through March 1999!

We invite all alumni in the Maryland area to join the fund-raising event at The Magic Cue in Germantown on March 20th with The Jack Diamond (1972) and Jim Steed Band. The minimum donation for attendance is $10/person. The form is available on the website for advanced reservation. It should be completed and mailed to the event coordinator, Melissa Davis Stronsnider (1982), Special Committee to Save the MSO, 10061 Sheldrake Circle, Damascus, MD 20872. If you're interested in helping out, contact Melissa at melissa_strosnider@discovery.com to be a part of it!

We've received donations from less than 25% of all alumni listed on the site and receive the newsletter. Let's hope the remaining 75% will be attending this event on March 20th or just haven't gotten around to sending their support for this user-supported project. As stated last month, we're doing all we can to avoid becoming a paid subscription site so people can have access to the reunion and class information and classmate contact listings.

We now have close to 2,000 alums online with us. So, we've heard from less than 500 of you (very good considering) — let's hear from the 1,500 others — this would ensure this project's continuation through 1999, hopefully!

ATLANTIC CITY: Reservations are eing taken NOW for the Spring Fling in Atlantic City the weekend of April 9, 1999! All the details are posted online. Contact event coordinator Robin Rosenberg Aiscowitz (1979) for more information and to sign-up. Robin will be handling payments and reservations for this event. If there aren't at least 20 individuals commited to this event by February 14th, it will be canceled. AC is a short drive from the DC area — join us for a weekend of frolic and fun — if you don't gamble... other activities are available and in-the- works too! A block of rooms is set aside for Peary Alumni — grab them up before they're gone and you lose the discount!

REUNIONS: The Class of 1979 will be holding a 20-year Reunion. Details are available on the website, including contact information for Mary Fegan Heckhaus who is coordinating the plans. The Classes of 1963 through 1965 are well-into their planning of the joint reunion in 2000. Missing Persons listings for 1964 and 1965 are posted online if you can help us track any of these folks down. 1974 will be holding its reunion this year on July 31 — contact Meredith Way Morris or Reina Cohen Sprankle for details. And finally, 1969 will be holding its 30-year sometime this fall — details will be available soon!

CUPID: Did anyone catch the "Bachelorette Party" episode of Cupid and hear Paula Marshall (1982) mention "Peary High School" on the show? I hope so — it was pre-empted for some reason in Las Vegas! Let me know. This episode was scheduled to air Thursday, January 28th.

MISCELLANEOUS: I was contacted by Barbara Hammack, the Director of Program Development for Interages and the Montgomery County Intergenerational Resource Center. One of their projects, Time Travelers, working with the county libraries and Aspen Hill Friends of the Library, seeks your participation in this project that joins senior county citizens with young people to educate and entertain about the history of where they live. If you're interested in participating, contact Barbara at Interages, 301-949-3551.

CANCER RIDE: See www.onevoiceusa.com and read about Bobby McQuin's attempt to bicycle ride from San Diego to Virginia Beach beginning in March! Bobby is the son of Beth Sanchez McQuin (1978).

BTW, my townhouse in Germantown, MD is now vacant and available if anyone is looking to lease it. Details in the last newslettter — or e-mail me directly if you're interested. About 1600 sq.ft., washer and dryer, large screen TV for your use, and convenient to I-270 in a nice, established neighborhood nearby schools. 3-level, three-bedroom with reserved parking, security (video) system, and a pool. Perfect for single, couple, or small family.

Articles for the next issue of the Midnight Sun Online are due Saturday February 20th.
