After graduating from Peary in 1978, I went to Montgomery College for two years and finished at the University of MD. I received a BA in American History, in 5/82. I worked for MCPS from 1980 to 1984. I became a National Park Service Park Ranger in 1984. In 1988, I became a Unites States Park Police Officer, in Washington DC. Future Plans: We would like to have one more child, after I am transferred back to DC. We also plan to build a new house, in the same area we live in now. We plan to stay here until I retire, in 2010.

I would like to hear from any of my old friends, especially ones from band class.

She has one daughter, Ashley, who is 1 year old. She is expecting another child in 4/99. If you would like to get a message to her, please use my Email address and I will let her know ASAP.

I found out about this from my sister, Jody (Class of '81), who sent me info. Occupation: Administrative Secretary/Govt. Spouse: Gary, Children: Married since December 1993. No children.

Memorable Incident: The Variety Shows that were performed. The untimely passing of such good people as Kevin Lynch '79, and Pat Bryan '78.

The fun we had during football season. My personal memory that I recall is the November 12, 1977 football game against Blair HS at home when Chris Wagner rushed for over 100 yards. The weather was brisk and snowy. I was still recovering from major surgery and it was my first public outing. The Senior Banquet at the Indian Spring Country Club was memorable as well.

Since High School: Since February 1980, I have been employed with the Federal Government. After being a lifelong MD resident, I moved to NJ, where my future husband resided and became employed with the FAA at the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ. No, I don't gamble and the beach is 15 min. from my home.

From: Scott Giambusso sgiambusso@aol.com (1971) Date: Fri, 18 Sep 1998 Subject: Music

Over the pass twenty-two years I've had the good fortune to make my living as a musician, playing mainly in the DC area. By weeknights I play Jazz and on weekends I continue to play Weddings and dinner dances, 'cause that's really what pays the rent.

At age 45 I have finaly released my first CD as a leader. I call it "Giambusso's Small Band Sampler"

There are 9 tracks of a jazz quartet playing swing tunes and show tunes with my own personal twist, and then there are 10 tracks of a five piece Rock Band performing a variety of the music we grew up with. The versatile Giambusso warbling is featured throughout the disc. The tunes are short as it is a sampler for what you would get if you hired my band for a party.

I would like to offer all Peary alumni and faculty a free copy of this CD. I only have about 700 copies left so I am little limited but not real worried about that.

I would ask for the price of a mailing which would be about $1.50 or I could drop it off if you live in the area. Also you could visit me in beautiful north Wheaton (the Falls Church of Maryland) and pick up your free copy. My email address is sgiambusso@aol.com

Thanks for your attention and keep an eye out for a performance at Blues Alley on Friday October 30.

Also Monday October 12 I will be roaming around Lake Forest Mall from 1-4pm with 2 of my favorite musician buddies playing jazz and watching all the girls. Come out and say hi. I'll bring a box of CD's with me.

D.C. area roots country/rockabilly outfit Ruthie and the Wranglers will be celebrating the release of their 2nd CD "Life's Savings" (Lasso Records, 7004 Westmoreland Ave., Takoma Park, MD 20912) at IOTA, 2832 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA (IOTA telephone number: 703-522-8340) on October 15. All "Huskies" country fans should come out to hear the tasty pickin' of lead guitarist Phil Mathieu (RPHS '79). Vocalist "Ruthie" knows how to belt out a rockin' honky-tonk tune, and always looks like she's having a great time on stage. The rhythm section of Mark Noone (bass) and Joel App (drums) keep the steady beat chuggin'. A "Husky" 'pick to click' recommended by myself.

I'm writing 20 performer bio entries on musicians from Scotland, England, Denmark, Germany, and Spain for "MUSICHound World" (Visible Ink Press, Detroit, MI).The book will be published late winter/early spring next year. "MUSICHound" is a series of encyclopedia/dictionary format styled music reference books. Each one is devoted to a particular kind of music such as blues, jazz, rock, or country. "MUSICHound Folk" was published several months ago and I wrote on entries on Steeleye Span, Runrig, Kate Rusby, Polly Bolton, Connie Dover, Pamela Morgan/Figgy Duff, and others for that book.

Gale Senseman-Privette ('66), Neal Pizzano ('76), Bob Margolis('67), David Alde ('69) and Ken Roseman ('69) attended the The Hebrew Academy's "beginning of renovation" ceremony at the RPHS building site Sept. 13.

My nephew Sam Bieber will be celebrating his bar mitzvah October 3 in Columbia, MD. Diane Bieber, my sister, recently underwent surgery for breast cancer.

Plans for "Class of '69's" gala 30th reunion are moving along. Some fantastic ideas are being discussed; keep watching for updates!! I'll be in Albuquerque, New Mexico in late February for the annual "Folk Alliance" (a trade association of people involved w/folk and roots music) conference.

Cheers!! KR.

How found? My husband found his high school site online (Jamaica High in New York City) so I searched for mine and lo and behold! And by the way, our website is much superior!

Occupation: full-time Mom, Spouse: Nick, Children: Eric 6, Kevin 3

Memorable Incident: The time when Mr. Boteler tore the speaker box out of the wall because the announcements were interupting his class.

Since High School: I graduated from George Washington University with a degree in biology and environmental studies. I worked for a few years and then went to Cornell University for graduate work. Got a master's degree in nutritional biochemistry, with a minor in communications. Sounds a little bizarre but actually came in handy. I eventually got a job working as a medical reporter for the International Medical News Group. They put out a bunch of newspapers for physicians. I got to do a lot of traveling and meeting interesting people, like Surgeon General Koop. After I married my husband Nick, we followed his job to Minnesota. A wonderful place, but they are very hard on outsiders. We lasted four years before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, where we currently live. We started a family along the way and we now have two red-haired boys. I am at home with them full-time now.

Future Plans: When my youngest is in school I plan to go back to work. I'll probably get back into journalism somehow, but I have thought about going back to school and pursuing child psychology or counseling.

Memorable Teachers: Mrs. Hale had a big impact on me. What she taught me about journalism turned out to be what stuck with me more than any of the college courses I took in communications. She did kick me out of her class, but we were both stubborn and pig-headed. Good journalism qualities I guess! I also have fond memories of math class with Mr. Hill and Mr. Black, history class with Mr. Boyd, and chemistry class with Mr. Steele. I also learned a lot from the photography teacher, but I can't remember her name.
