Occupation: Biomedical Equipment Technician, Spouse/S.O.: Karen Willmes Memorable Incident: Being attacked and beaten by about 10 of my "classmates" on my way home from school. Since High School: Did the hippie thing. Got a job repairing hospital equipment. Now maintaining laboratory equipment for the army at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, DC; Nairobi, Kenya; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After all those years three blocks from the school, I have bought a place in Baltimore. ********** From: Melissa Nutter Prince ma_prince@juno.com (1979) Date: Wed, 2 Sep 1998 Subject: Update Occupation: Multimedia/Graphic Designer Since High School: Since I last submitted stuff, I've been spending half the summer teaching air traffic controllers how to use the new equipment in the soon to open new control tower at the Salt Lake International Airport. (Great view from the top 25 stories). I've learned a lot, and have admiration and empathy for those who teach full time! Future Plans: Continue to try to stay on top of multimedia software. Maybe ditch it all and go back to school to become a chef. Memorable Teachers: Leslie Whitaker - by encouraging me in field hockey, she helped me go from dreading PE to competing in local running races and city league soccer. From my Daughter in Greece and then a YAHOO search. Occupation: Project Leader with IBM & Licensed Boat Captain, Spouse: Barbara, Children: Tracy Ann Clark, Grandchildren: Troy Ellis Clark 3 Memorable Incident: Being kicked out of Graduation for a prank we played on the Assistant Principal during rehearsal. (Kathy MacConnell and I were later allowed back in) Since High School: Working with IBM in the Washington Area and in Florida, playing with boats and sailing the Carribean for 8 years, and later returning to IBM to start a second career. Future Plans: Continue with IBM and also use my computer/internet skills to promote Barbara's Florist business (Flamingo Florist - Madeira Beach, Florida Memorable Teachers: Mr. Courtney - All three years that I attended Peary, I enjoyed his down to earth teaching of electronics. He and I shared the subject. Missing People? Occupation: Business Owner and Freelance Technologist/Defense, Medical Ethical Researcher; Spouse: Ronald, Children: 2-Girls. Teresa-13 and Kim-11 Since High School: I became a licensed Cosmetologist In 1980. A Cosmetic Rep. for Borgessi (A Cosmetic Compamy out of Paris 80 to 84). Got married, started an Electric Contracting Company In 1987-Till present. Started researching in issues concerning governmental/ military (DOD, CIA,PHHS,DOE and N.I.H.) covert experimentation for Scientist, the media, authors and public agencies and Committees primarily with the ethical concerns of interest to the private sector. My work has been quoted in Medical, Science and technology Journals and Universities all over the United States. Future Plans: Continue researching medical ethics, I did a story for Fox tv. station here in Wash., D.C., About N.I.H. soliciting children for non-therapeutic experimentation using the Montgomery County School System, I am quite action in issues concerning experimentation on children at the military and Government level. I will be featured in a story in the fall on ABC network (Topic, "The military Sexual and experiment abuses on children during the Cold-War"). Occupation: Sales Consultant Since High School: I attend Towson State University-graduated with a degree in Health Service Management. I have worked in the Health Field for over 12 years. I have been in touch w/Cyndi Liming Word and Lisa Simonetti/Patty Magno. I bought a townhouse in Gaithersburg 8 years ago and basically just been hanging out and still playing. Future Plans: I am looking into going back to school and continue on in the health field. Memorable Teacher: Mr.Robert Clarke- Going to London and Paris This is great to be able to see what everyone is up to. Occupation: Housewife, Spouse: Tom, Children: Alicia Curran - 24 years, Theresa Curran - 21 years, Maria Curran - 11 years, Grandchildren: (None yet!) Memorable Incidents: Many...OTIS (Of Thee I Sing); the Variety Shows; Senior Skip Day at Timberlake, Va.; the fact that the Star Spangled Banner was sung at each assembly (I doubt many of today's young adults know the words to that wonderful song), Field trip to Philadelphia by train; Snowball and Homecoming dances, the bagpipes, etc. Helping to form the Keyette Club. Helping to make about 30 white chorus robes with June Oliveri and others for Miss Bauer. Since High School: I married Tom in 1968. Worked several years until our first daughter was born. Stayed home, volunteered at school and church, learned to make wedding cakes, raised two girls and now raising our last daughter. Interesting tidbit...former classmate Dr.Joe Moser (then head of obstetrics at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis and a wonderful doctor) delivered my last daughter. Future Plans: Nothing remarkable...Tom and I still have an eleven year old at home to raise and are learning to enjoy life a little more now that he is retired. Memorable Teachers: There are many. Miss Bauer (chorus) introduced us to such a myiad of music...oldies, patriotic, gospel, etc. And Mr. Gibbs (drama) was instrumental in introducing us to so much (silent movies, classical music, operas). Got a letter from Elizabeth Carter. Occupation: computer operations manager for Montgomery Co. Public Schools, Spouse: Cindy, Children: daughter Ashley 12yrs., son Clay 8yrs. Memorable Incident: greasing the hallway floor near the print shop, putting a board through the door handles on the other side and watching people that were running to the cafeteria try to stop. Since High School: Traveled around a little. I have worked for the Mont. Co. Board of Ed. for 27 yrs. I now have a little land near Libertytown on which we have a few pets including a goat, sheep, rabbits, dog, cat, and some chickens. Future Plans: Work until the kids leave home and then retire and fish. You all, were the good times in my life, the ones I remember the most. A few of you have expressed to me over the years, that the nick-name that I gave you hurt your feelings. If I offended any of you, I am sorry, for that was not my intent. I love you all and you are a great importance in my life. You are the special ones. And for those of you, who's nick-names I have forgotten after 30 or 40 years (some of us go all the way back to elementary school) Please forgive me. God Bless You All. Occupation: Homemaker, Spouse: Steve, Children: Brittnae Marie 7 ; Brandi Lyn 5 ; Braiden Alen 2 Memorable Incident: Coming into Mrs.Thomson's class at the beginning of the theory of evolution study and finding Bibles on the desks. Thank-you Mrs. Thomson for TRUE education on that ( I chose Creation ) Also Mr. Peerless' class and the Biblical song from Song of Solomon 8:6 Set Me as a Seal. Since High School: I worked for First Omni Bank as a credit card fraud investigator and worked with the Secret Service, Interpol, Postal Inspectors, etc., I left the bank after Brittnae was born and started my own Day Care. That lasted for 4 years until Brittnae started pre-school. I currently am a "stay-at-home" Mom. Brittnae and Brandi will return to Epworth Christian School on Sept 8th. Some things never change I forgot to say I got married in 1984 and will be celebrating our 14th anniversary this November. Currently, I am active in my congregation Abundant Life and help lead in worship dance. I have also danced with Chosen People Ministries recently. Future Plans: My Future plans include raising my kids and then taking time for me by returning to college or traveling with a ministry team Memorable Teachers: As I stated before Mrs. Thomson, Mr. Peerless, and I also remember Mr. Pine and his Law classOH the Memory work there was in that class. Missing People? Meg Lyon (Winter) is in Frederick, MD. She was married I think 2 years ago. Meg's father just passed away in June of 1998 from pancreatic cancer. I am so glad there finally a place where we can keep in touch, and find out what has been happening. |
