INTRODUCTION

Greetings Huskies!

It's the 2-Year Anniversary Issue of the MSO Newsletter!

A reminder that our postal address has changed. Please address all correspondence, photos, and donations to: The Midnight Sun Online, 3428 Winterhaven Street, Suite 201, Las Vegas, NV 89108-5055. Donation information is online and all that is received goes towards the maintenance of our pages and the website server account.

Welcome back to Mary Thomson (Faculty) who recently returned from a wonderful trip to Canada... Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick for camping, hiking, biking, and kayaking! Also, on the way back... the coast of Maine and Cape Cod. Hope you had a great time, Ms. Thomson!

REUNIONS: The Class of 1968 is holding its 30-Year Reunion on Saturday, September 26, 1998 at the Bethesda Hyatt. Watch for updates and announcements of the details at the website in the Class of 1968 section.

The Class of 1978 held its 20-Year Reunion the weekend of August 7. We're looking forward to posting some photos from this event (when you guys send them!) — same for the Class of 1973.... no photos have been received for online display yet.

The Class of 1969 continues its plans for next year's 30th Reunion, while plans continue for the joint 1963/1964/1965 Reunion in the year 2000! Many thanks to Eileen Brown Carter for sending snail mail letters to the members of the Class of 1965 — a good start to tracking down old classmates.... it's never too early to start the search. No word yet on any plans for a Class of 1979 or any 5-year-increment reunions next year, but stay tuned.

COLORADO GATHERING: Another Rocky Mountain Gathering will be held in September! Contact Ron Bostwick (1977) in Boulder at 303/443-9977 or e-mail him. More details later on in this newsletter.

GET WELL SOON: Speedy recovery wishes to Michele "Shelly" Moran (1984) who has returned home from recent surgery for a cerebral aneurism. Drop her a note at shellym75@aol.com. You are in our prayers, Shelly, and we're glad to know you survived this emergency!

OUR BUILDING: From Neal Pizzano... The Hebrew Academy has invited all Robert E. Peary HS Alumni to it's "rebuilding" ceremony to be held on September 13th. The new school is scheduled to open in September 1999. Stay tuned for further details and/or contact Neal via e-mail.

Neal Pizzano also wants alumni to know that Lisa Salsitz (1981), aka Allie Raye of Los Angeles, is planning the production of a film in Maryland and they are asking alumni for financial support for her film. They also need alumni to appear in the film as background players (Extras). In return for your support, your name will be included in the credits. Contact Neal Pizzano, her Publicist and Promotions Manager on the East Coast, at npizzano@erols.com, or call him at 301-929-6155 for the latest details, production dates, and locations. It is unknown if any union waivers have been obtained at this time, but contact Neal or Allie as soon as possible if you can participate. Principle casting has already been completed. Allie may be reached at afunnygirl@unforgettable.com — further details on the production may be found on her home page http://www.geocities.com/hollywood/hills/9497

HOLIDAY PARTY: The Peary Alumni Holiday Party held last December was a blast (see details and photos online)! I co-chaired and financed the event (I'm still out-of-pocket, $500, from it) — however, I will not be able to take on the duties this year. Last year's event was largely successful to the efforts and planning of co-chair Maureen Difulgo Bladen (1976)... any volunteers for this year's Holiday Party? A facility needs to be secured soon (hint: Bauer Drive Rec Center will not be large enough to accommodate this year's crowd). Thanks again to those alums whose businesses provided valuable door prizes for last year's event.

Articles for the next issue of the Midnight Sun Online are due Saturday September 19th. Submit your articles and news items directly online when you visit the home page. We want to hear how your summer was!
