And walking Sarita around the building, (what a Putz I was!) The great pie fight in the woods ACE got Creamed! Trying to stay awake in Fraulein B's class.

Since High School: After PHS I attended HS PLUS (Mont. College) For 3 semesters. Left school to work in a print shop, was in a severe auto collision in 79, which curtailed many of my extracurricular activities. Fell deeply in love with my caretaker. Married my nurse in 80. Stayed in Printing to extend my knowledge of color, have been working in that field for 20 years. I am currently working for the top color printer in the mid-atlantic region as a color scanner operater/retoucher. I have been married to the same woman for 17 years and have two beauties (boy and girl). Still live in the area but not in Mont Co. My parents live in Kill Devil Hills N.C. and are doing fine . My brothers and sister are still in the state too. All in all a quiet existance. I do still dabble in art from time to time I managed to sell a few illustrations and even have some on the web!

Future Plans: To survive the Millenium, remain healthy, lose 50 lbs., get my hair back. See both my kids reach adult life, travel, write a best selling novel and have it optioned into a gazillion dollar screenplay deal and retire to the warmer climes, with my long suffering wife. Oh Yeah and find a cure for Snoring.

Memorable Teachers: Mrs.Jeffers because she was so patient with me (sorry about the fudge), Mrs.Glass cause she wasn't and didn't put up with anything. Plus she pushed me to do better. Mr Richardson he was so DYNAMIC! He really was the first History channel. Ms.Steincrauss she inspired me, and she was FOXY. Fraulein Brown "Ich sprechen Deutsce bitte mit uns". Coach Cino because he wanted me to play Football like my brother (I was terrible). "Mom's" cooking class I still remember our apple pie. Mrs.Thomson was great she would let me play guitar instead of drawing.

From: Margo Fitzpatrick margo_fitzpatrick@msn.com (1979) Date: Wed, 5 Aug 1998 Subject: Hello, everyone!

Hi, everyone! Well, I must say, this is a great web site! My brother-in-law, Mike DiFonzo '84 (married to my sister, Leslie '85), brought this to my attention a few months ago.

I'm currently living in the Philadelphia area working for Fannie Mae as a Director of systems development & technology. I'm also working on my PhD in Information Systems. Sooooo, I love to get away weekends to my beach house in Bethany to hook up with family and friends! I am really looking forward to moving back to the DC area by end of this year. My sister, Paula Fitzpatrick Galliani, just had another baby last week - a boy! Her first child, Tori, is now 2 years old. Up until the new arrival, she was the director of accounting and budget for a Washington association. She is now a full-time mommy and a 10K champ! You, go Paula!

Believe it or not, Valerie Fitzpatrick Echard had another baby last week TOO!!! My sisters are GREAT at timing their births (the last go 'round involved all 3 having babies within 2 weeks of each other). Val had another boy, which makes a total of 3 boys - Eddie, Blair, & Dean! She is a regional manager of several properties and is doing very well. Although Val is very busy, she still has time to "giggle with the girls" so she says!

For those of you who have not read the many submissions of Mike DiFonzo, my other sister, Leslie, has 2 girls (1 & 3 years old) and is a director of an IS consulting firm. As though motherhood and working was not enough, Leslie is also finishing up her masters degree at U of MD! All of my sisters are living in the Gaithersburg/Germantown area. I would love to hear from Laura Turner, Rob Henry, Sandy Beal (surprised?), Laura Bowen, Cheryl Davis, Mike Fox, Rhonda Ganis, Tom Gogarty, Grace Lohr, Peter Onufrak (we must go x-mas shopping again!), Barb Powell, Conica Belland, and anyone with whom I ran track. Take care, everyone! Margo

Can you say "BURN OUT???!!!" Went into private industry with a local temp. service, got "RIF'd" in 1991, and entered the Federal Gov't. as a secretary (luckily they don't require a typing test anymore!!!) Moved up the chain, and I'm now applying some of those "teacher" skills, designing and conducting surveys, doing assessments, analysis, facilitation, focus groups, etc. to improve the operations of our agency in USDA. Married Michael in May 1989, did some traveling, became a mom in '92, and again in 1996, and I've been trying to balance it all since then! We recently moved back to Montgomery County, now living in Olney. Uh oh, my kids will go to SHERWOOD!!! Well, that's better than Wheaton, right??? :-)

Best memories: Lots of times with the Band, learning Sign Language (which I still try to use, and I'm teaching my girls to use!) and performing in the Talent Shows. I'll also never forget "Llegs" (John Holton) running to the Glenmont McDonalds' to ask me to the Prom!!! That was at least a 5 mile run! Each Way!! How could I say no to that!!!??? I also remember passing notes, and listening to the guys I had crushes on tell me about the girls THEY had crushes on!!! And, of course, CRUISIN'!!! (Like we had someplace to go?!?!? :-))

People I've been in touch with: My Brother, Seth, ('79) is married and lives in Edgewater with his wife, Katherine and their 2 cats. I'm really happy to "hear" (see) that some of my old friends are doing well. Thanks for establishing and maintaining this website!!! Missing People? Becky (Solomon) Bond is in Damascus, MD.

From: Paula Goodman Crews pcrews@san.rr.com (1975) Date: Fri, 14 Aug 1998 Subject: Update

I was on vacation, visiting my parents in Maryland and was talking with a Peary High School alumna, Rona Shapiro, at the local swimming pool. She told me about the website and I couldn't wait to get back home to San Diego to log on and search for old friends! Occupation: clinical social worker/psychotherapist, Spouse: Tom, Children: Laura Rachel — 9, Kyle Mayne — 6

Memorable Incident: Unfortunately, my memories of high school have really faded. Most of the things I remember are probably not publishable anyway! I do remember the variety shows that were really fun.

Since High School: I went to the University of Maryland for my bachelor's degree and then went to The Ohio State University and got my master's degree in social work in 1982. I've been practicing in the field of women's health for the past 17 years. I have also developed a sub-specialty in medical bioethics.

I got married in 1981 to a cute guy I met in Ft. Lauderdale on a spring break my junior year of college! Believe it or not, we are still married! I have two incredible children, a daughter who is 9 and a son who is 6. I work part-time now — I run a teen pregnancy program out of a large hospital system in San Diego where teen pregnancy rates are sky-high. My days off are spent trying to exercise, enjoy my friends, and volunteering at the kids' school.

Future Plans: I know we'll stay in San Diego. I still love my work and don't plan on making any changes unless we win the lottery. Sometimes I fantasize about not working and staying at home full-time! My hope is to stay healthy, connected to my kids and husband, and to enjoy the great friends and family in my life.

Memorable Teachers: Unfortunately, I don't remember too many teachers — I'm not sure what that means. I probably have the strongest memories of the teacher who taught music and chorus (I can't believe I can't remember his name!)

Missing People? Terry Alvey lives in San Francisco and I have been in touch with her. She's doing really well. I would love to find Cindy Karasinski and Jeff Bruff. Any word on them?

I guess you don't realize how powerful your high school experience was until you've had some distance from it. I find myself thinking a lot about the old friends and all the "first" experiences that occur during adolescence. It's probably because I work with teenage girls that I find myself thinking about my own teenage years. Since I moved out of the Rockville area right after college I've been pretty disconnected from my high school days. There are a lot of people whom I would love to see and I'm pining for our next reunion!

From: Alan Goldberg agold@erols.com (1974) Date: Thu, 13 Aug 1998 Subject: Update

I found out about this from Rob Ulysney '77. Occupation: Police Sergeant, Spouse: Paula, Children: Daughters Samantha 11 and Stephanie 7, Grandchildren: Bite your tongue!

Memorable Incident: The time an airplane landed on the lower field. Since High School: Graduated American University in Dec. '77. Worked for the FAA Airport PD for about a month until I was hired by the Metropolitan Police in DC. After about 2 1/2 years there I joined the Montgomery Co. Police Dept. Been there for 18 years now. I'm a shift sergeant in Wheaton. Its great because its like coming home- except home just isn't the same anymore. But its still fun. Married twice. Second one's a charm. I couldn't ask for a better spouse, even if she did go to Sherwood. Raising two great daughters has been the icing on the cake.

Future Plans: RETIREMENT!!! I like building and fixing computers and teaching. Probably do one or both when I bail out of the PD. Memorable Teacher: Mr. Bragonier telling me I'd never make it through college after he caught me sleeping in class (every day).

Missing People? Rich Wyne and Ron Hardy are both sergeants at the Wheaton Glenmont Police station.

Comments: Been there. Done that. Wrote a book!

From: Patty Hunt Cruzan PattyCVA@aol.com (1972) Date: Thu, 13 Aug 1998 Subject: Update

I found out about the MSO from my sister-in-law. Susan Cruzan (1970). Occupation: Kindergarten Teacher, Children: Sarah Leigh Cruzan (20), Jeremiah Merritt Cruzan (15), Noah William Cruzan (14); Grandchildren: Monet Alexandra Davis (2)

Since High School: I went to college (Frostburg State) and got my BS in Elementary Education, got married to Merritt Cruzan (1972), traveled around the U.S. (Alabama, North Carolina, Colorado, and Washington) as a Special Forces Army wife, had 3 children, and have been an educator for 12 years of and on between children). Currently, I have been teaching Kindergarten at Centre Ridege Elementary School in Centreville, VA for the last 5 years. I have been raising my children as a single parent for the last 6 years.

Future Plans: I plan on continuing my education, teaching for Fairfax County, VA schools, raising my children, and enjoying my grandchild ("my precious").

Memorable Teachers: I remember Mr. Hill because of his dry wit and funny sayings. If you asked, "Can I go to the restroom?", he would say "Can you?" You were supposed to say "May I go to the restroom?". I also remember Mr. Gambaro who taught English. He was so handsome that all the girls could do in his class was stare.

From: Debbie Chapman DChapman@psc.dhhs.org (1981) Date: Fri, 14 Aug 1998 Subject: Update

My sister Charline Chapman Carter (84) introduced me to the MSO. Occupation: Employee Development (Coordinator of Training Programs for HHS), Children: Martienne Alicia Chapman - 6yrs. old

Memorable Incident: The closing of Peary.

Future Plans: To get a house, maybe husband, but I'm in NO hurry! Most of all be Happy & be at the next reunion!

Memorable Teachers: Mrs. Rosen for her way of dealing with the hard heads in her kind way. She made you want to learn English, & not be afraid to give reports in public. Because of her, I can now speak to a crowd of folks. After her, (11grade) English came along with Vincent (Vinnie) Gibbs!! The hardest class I had in MY life. But he failed me, as he should have, then of course night school. He pretty much taught that I shouldn't be a procrastinator, because things just get HARDER, & he was RIGHT! I loved his b/w pitures he kept on the walls! I was crazy about Mr. Clarke, he taught Politics of the Twentieth Century (POTC). He was funny, inspiring, & just a plain ole nice man. I always felt if I didn't understand something, I could raise my hand & say so without feeling embarrassed. I didn't do alot that in school. Then there was Mrs. Luck (MATH) SHE MADE ME LEARN! She'd always make me sit in the front row everyday, and go to the board w/ these hard problems everyday and would make me stay until I got it them right. Bless her heart & soul (RIP).

Comments: THIS IS GREAT!!!!!
