Date: Mon, 30 Mar 1998 From: Jody Leins Kenefick WAVEDANCE1@aol.com (1971) by way of Stuart Kushner (1974) Subject: wrestling My name is Jody Leins Kenefick and I now live out in southern California. My husband, Tom, is a former wrestler and a wrestling coach at a local high school. We are both USA Wrestling officials as well. We run an association out here (Inland Empire Wrestling Assn.) for California USA Wrestling (a division of USA Wrestling) and keep really busy promoting the sport here in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. In fact, we're hosting the California State Championships for Junior & Open Freestyle/Open Greco this weekend in Fontana. We've heard that a visiting 15-man Russian team plans to attend! I never really followed wrestling while at Peary, but was interested to see that the wrestlers still stay in touch and have brought their kids into the sport. I've found that it really grows on you! Anyway, if any of the wrestlers from your part of the country are headed this way and looking for a place to work out or meet other wrestlers, just let us know. Our association is linked to the California USA Wrestling Website at http://www.ca-usaw.org. Jody

Our company was purchased in 1996 by a national firm. Left after one year of Corporate red tape and started my own recruiting business. Peggi Lowe & Associates. Living in a historic neighborhood in Denver where we can walk to shops and cafes. Love Colorado, have learned to ski, hike and flyfish! This web site is just fantastic! Corky Lance and I went to the Colorado Peary Alumni get together and it was a great time. This is wonderful to get in touch with old friends. From: Eileen Brown Carter ecarter236@aol.com (1965) Date: Tue, 31 Mar 1998 Subject: Working on a reunion for the class of 65 Classmates: I am still working on making some kind of reunion plans for the spring/summer of the year 2000. From: Patsy Ann Zukav no e-mail address submitted (1984) Date: Wed, 1 Apr 1998 Subject: Update I found out about this from the newspaper. Occupation: Freelance writing, Children: Well, I have 1 niece: Laura (18 yrs old) and 1 nephew: Tommy (14 years old). They are my sister Barbara's (1975) children. I have no children, presently. Memorable Incidents: The dances. None in college were ever as well done as the high school ones! (When there's no liquor, people are at their best.) The guys at the Peary dances were wonderful! They dressed and acted like gentlemen. They were cute and it was a pleasure to dance with them! I'd enjoy having another punch & cookies Peary dance! Since High School: Trying out different things like: computer graphics, nursery school teaching, combining story writing with poetry. Also, I've joined a few different fan clubs over the years. Most recently, I've been with some clubs having to do with Japanese T.V. heroes (like we watched when we were kids). I've even learned a little of the Japanese language itself. I enjoy collecting Japanese T.V. sci. fi. items. Also, I like books and music of many sorts. I have enjoyed educating myself more than having someone else doing it on a time-limit. On more personal news, my Dad died in 1994 after a long illness. That's why I wasn't at the '94 reunion. However, the people of Peary are always in my Heart. Future Plans: Hopefully, I'll find alot of success in my writing. Maybe I'll get a good computer for creating my artwork. Memorable Teachers: Mrs. Wilson (math). Her devotion to her students was real. Whenever we got less than an A on our homework, she would come around and show each one of us what we had done wrong. Then she showed us how to do it right. This sort of attention was valuable to a non-math whiz like myself. Some math teachers try to rush you through a semester and don't care if students learn. However, Mrs. Wilson made a difference. I also liked Dr. Fleeger with his sunny attitude. He made learning a friendly experience. Mrs. Fellows, who was so easy going that she never lost her cool, was like a role-model to me. I graduated at the top of her class. There are so many teachers and staff that I liked -- and whom I'll always consider to be my friends. Hello Mr. Burlas! :

Since High School: Attending Montgomery College, Germantown campus and spending WAY too much time on the computer. Future Plans: Somehow convincing Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli to divorce his lovely wife and marry me. If that fails, I will attempt to convince my lovely husband to shell out enough money for me to see Andrea in concert. Memorable Teachers: David Moran was a wonderful English teacher who had the ability to identify with all students, greasers and hippies alike. I also fondly remember Mr.Campanelli (sp?). Not only did he give me a C in science for "trying so hard," he is also the reason I started attending classes at M.C. Does anybody else suffer from High School memory loss? I have large blank areas in my brain of my time at Peary.

Patricia Toler ecarter236@aol.com (1983) Date: Fri, 3 Apr 1998 Subject: Unemployment My aunt, Eileen Carter, class of 1965, told me about the Peary website. Occupation: Administrative Assistant, Significant: Jerome Kenneth Anceleitz, Children: Caitlin Brynn Jump 7 1/2 years old I just wanted to say that I truly believe unemployment is the worst thing that can happen to a person. Take it from someone who knows first hand. It can happen to anyone and for no reason. Jobs aren't scarce, its just that the jobs people are qualified to do are scarce. What I mean is, you could be qualified to do a job but you don't have a degree. I really don't think that is fair. I am currently out of work because the job I was at didn't have enough money to continue paying me. At least that is one of the reasons I was given. The other reason is that although my work skills were impeccable, there was a personality difference. My employer did give me an excellent letter of recommendation and so did another co-worker. I am sure that I will find a job soon, but until I do, there is nothing I can do except to file for unemployment and temporarily go on welfare (I really don't want to do that). At least the welfare reform gives people a fighting chance to get back on their feet and become independent again. Comments? Just that I wish everyone from my graduating class the best and I hope that all their plans and dreams were met. That is all for now. Patricia Leigh Toler
