PAGE 6 of 6 From: Marc English Mershon nbkkhe4@ncmi.com (1983) Date: Tue, 17 Mar 1998 Subject: Update I found out about this from Kelly Morris (1984). Occupation: Traded Products, Spouse: Audrey Memorable Incident: Senior prank... the beach in Senior courtyard. Since High School: Tried out for the Dallas Cowbays and the New York Giants. Was a member of the USA Bobsled Team for 3 years. Working and enjoying life. Future Plans: Kids, and to live life to the extremes.
From: Marcia Hauprich Bass cwc.inc@erols.com (1974) Date: Tue, 17 Mar 1998 Subject: Update My brother, Matt Hauprich (70), told me about this. Occupation: Partner, Creative Wood Concepts, Inc. Spouse: Rick Bass (70), Rick's Occupation: Home Improvement General Contractor; Children: Step daughter Maggie D. Bass 19, daughter Cara 9, son Matthew 4 Since High School: Although I didn't actually graduate from Peary (spent my last year at Wheaton, ugh!), all of my 5 brothers and sisters and my husband and most of our closest friends graduated from Peary. My 2 year stint might as well have been 3. From the age of 18 until 10 years ago, I have been involved managing and/or owning various restaurants from here to New York City. The last being James III in Rockville as part owner and General Manager until I married for the first time in 1987 to my first love Rick. When we became pregnant with Cara (I was an old lady at 32 when she was born), I retired from the managing end of the restaurant business. Decided I couldn't raise a family and still work outside the home 6 days/week, 18 hours/day. Rick and I started our own Home Improvement Company of which I run the office and business end. I also design kitchen and bath remodelings, stay home with my kids and try to find enough time to do everything. Future Plans: My future plans are to attempt to raise 2 well rounded polite children and then collapse. Memorable Teachers: Mrs. Luck - she gave me pure Hell! and wouldn't let me where short shirts which showed my belly button. She said "it was the most digusting part of a female's body." Imagine that!
From: Chris Smith jcs@ix.netcom.com (1968) Date: Wed, 18 Mar 1998 Subject: 1968 30 Year Reunion Plans for the Class of '68 Reunion are moving forward. Thanks to those of you who have gotten in touch via e-mail. Rather than try to do everything ourselves, I contacted the tried and true Reunion Company, which has organized our last two reunions. They scoped out dates and locations in August and September, and reported back that the local hotels they prefer to work with are booked in August. (Sorry, Iris!) That doesn't rule out a picnic at a place like Smokey Glen, but my guess is that they are booked on weekends for corporate events, and we'd have to deal with weather issues. So, I tentatively booked the Bethesda Hyatt for Saturday, September 26th. It is an outstanding facility, great food, great service, reasonable prices. I would propose that we start around 7:00-7:30pm and have a light buffet, bar and DJ. Before I commit, I'd like your feedback on the date, the place and the time. We can work out the details later. Please get back to me via email, or call me at 703-845-7601. Best regards, Chris Smith
From: Sally Smith Shea (1978) Date: Wed, 18 Mar 1998 Subject: Update Occupation: Product Manager, Spouse: John Since High School: attended Univ of MD, graduated May 1982, B.S. Journalism; working full time since then in marketing positions, concentrating on the high tech sector over the past 8 years; married October 1995, honeymooned in the Greek Isles; currently working as a consultant for Computer Horizons Corporation, who has placed me at their client company, AT&T in a product management position for the next 2 years Future Plans: working on a MCSE certification; adopting a Labrador Retriever from the Rescue Society I did not attend the 5 year. However, I was at the 10 and 15 year reunions and never received the pictures that were taken, although I'm sure I would have ordered them. I must admit I don't remember having our picture taken at the 15 year, but I do remember the 10 year picture. Any insight on this? It would be nice to see pictures from past reunions at the upcoming 20 year reunion.

From: James Lilliefors jdl@awebstation.net (1973) Date: Sat, 21 Mar 1998 Subject: "Missing" I was pleased to recently discover the Peary H.S.website - and would like to petition you to remove my name from the "Missing People" list. I'm not, actually (although it may seem that way to some). I'm living in Florida these days, working as a writer and editor, as I have for most of the past 25 years. Shortly after leaving Peary, I took a job with Runner's World magazine, in California (and ended up writing a book on the subject). Eventually, I returned east and worked as a newspaper editor in Ocean City, Maryland for about 10 years. I also managed to write a travel book during this time, called HIGHWAY 50, which (to my surprise) received a strong review on the front page of the New York Times Book Review. Then, about four years ago, Linda, Glory (our shih-tzu) and I decided we'd had enough of cold winters and moved to Florida's Gulf Coast. Linda is a journalist and restaurant reviewer - I met her in Ocean City. When not baking on the beach, I continue to write. In 1996, St. Martin's Press published my first novel, a mystery titled BANANAVILLE. I have a second coming out later this year or early next, and another in the works (as they say), this one set in the D.C. area and having to do with running. I also recently became Senior Editor at the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts. So, while I may be missing in some quarters, at least I'm not missing here. Thanks, and best wishes. Sincerely, Jim Lilliefors, '73
From: Bob Lau blau@clark.net (1976) Date: Sat, 21 Mar 1998 Subject: Stuff I found out about the website from a dream. Occupation: Actor (HA) and computer weenie. Spouse: Where? Children: None known about Since High School: Trying to maintain this website Future Plans: Maintain this website Besides my attempt to keep up with all of the alumni news and updating things on the website so you'll all know what's happening, it's been pretty hectic lately. I don't think I recall any month, or couple of months in recent years that have been so scheduled with auditions for the acting work! Of course, you can't land 'em all, but I've recently done some local stuff that nobody will ever see... industrial/corporate stuff mostly (production for Homicide wrapped last week for the 1997-98 season), so I had some gigs with WorldSpace and Gannett (USA Today). Looking forward to two auditions I have next week - one corporate thing, one government thing... and hope they result in jobs!! My friend Kristy, who many of you have met before -- appeared in Homicide last night (3/20)... one of those quick background things. If any of you go to see Species 2, look at the waiters during the "speech" given by the astronaut in the ballroom scene (you'll know it's coming up, because during this, the alien will be doing the wild thing in the hallway during the ball/dinner). You also might see me as a Secret Service type at a press conference with the astronauts, and you'll see Kristy sitting next to the first reporter who asks a question in the same scene. You might catch a glimpse of me in HBO's From the Earth to the Moon (I think it was episode 2, airing April 5). Again, if there at all, it'll be quick! As for principal stuff on TV.. if called again to Homicide as the Process Server, it won't be until next season, but as most of you local actor types know, there's plenty of work in DC from the industrials and government productions. So wish me luck in these upcoming auditions! I'll be doing work in a flick called "Adversaries" soon, that's shooting in the DC area. Sorry, I know nothing about the movie, except that they have me cast as a public defender. Gee, a scummy lawyer. Is that a step up from being a Process Server? Other than that, my cousin, who manages and performs with Loreena McKennett, appeared on Late Night with David Letterman. They've already begun their European tour and currently in Italy, I think. So, that's the closest "I've" come to a broadcast appearance since January *grin*. Unless gigs come up which would preclude my attendence, I hope to see lots of you folks next Saturday at the Friends of Danny Foundation Gala and Auction. Are any alums in broadcasting or multimedia attending the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference in early April? If so, get in touch with me since I'll be there for a bunch of boring meetings -- maybe we can meet for a drink between activities. -- Bob
