From: Kathryn Poulsen kap86225@glaxowellcome.com (1985) Date: Wed, 26 Nov 1997 Subject: Poulsen Family Update I graduated from Peary in the summer of 1984, although I was in the class of 85. I didn't want to go to Wheaton for my senior year, so I took Senior English in Summer School and graduated early. I worked for Montgomery County as a Secretary while attending college at University of MD at night. I have a BS degree in Marketing. During that time I was married to Tom Barrett (82), we're now divorced, but remain friends. After leaving the County Government I got a job with a pharmaceutical company in Gaithersburg in Sales & Marketing. I liked the job, but there were limited opportunites for advancement as it was a small company. So last year I moved to North Carolina to work for GlaxoWellcome a large pharmaceutical company. I am currently a contract worker for GW - but hope to become a Sales Rep with them soon. I am living with a terrific guy that I met in Northern VA through a mutual friend, and must say, I'm pretty darn happy! I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters that also attended Peary, here's a brief update: Donna (77) is living in Manteo, NC - a small town on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She has one child (Samantha), and very much enjoys life at the beach. Jon (78) is living in Ft. Worth, TX working for the Federal Government and building custom homes. He has a wonderful wife and three beautiful children (Travis, Trent, and Melissa). Lora (80) is also living in Manteo, NC - two sisters wind up in the same small town. It's great, they only live about 4 miles apart. Lora is a teacher and has a great husband and one child (Colby), and one on the way! Mark (81) is living in Alexandria, VA - working for the Federal Government, and going to college at night. No kids, but a beautifully restored old Corvette. Our parents are still on Parkland Dr. We had a bad scare with our father's health about 8 years ago. We almost lost him, but thanks to the generosity of another family in their time of loss, he received a heart transplant, and is doing great! For those of you that listen to Bluegrass music in the area - you might know that he is Jerry Gray, and you can still hear him three days a week. (The other two days, he's usually on the golf course.) I found out about the website from Nikki Wantling (1985). I know all of my siblings except Donna have an e-mail address, so if you want to contact her, feel free to send the message to me. I'll pass along the web page information to the rest of the Poulsen gang. I'm sure they will also write in with their own update. Thanks so much to Neal Pizzano and Bob Lau for providing this forum, it's great!
