"You Can Do It"
Hi Mr. Hill,
What a joy to be able to share with you the impact you had on
my life. Y0u instilled in the expectation that, "YOU CAN DO
IT." I must confess to you that it has been both a blessing and a
curse.
You have a quiet yet powerful that subtlety expected the best
from your students. The fear of disappointing you was much more effective
than any overt demands you could have made.
There have been times in my life when I simply didn't want to
"YOU CAN DO IT." You even haunted me then. I didn't want
to disappoint you EVEN in your absence. So whatever it was, I had to do it
because you said I could.
High School years are the very best of times and the very
worst of times. I have experienced it vicariously four times with my own
children (the last will graduate next year). Your beautiful loving and
caring spirit is the single most enduring memory I carry with me from my high
school years.
Thank you Mr. Hill for recognizing your special gift from God
and sharing it with all those who came in contact with you. Hopefully, we
all took a little piece of your gift and "Passed it On."
By the way, I have had my own accounting practice for
years. All that math was indeed worth something.
Happy Birthday, you're my FAVORITE.
