In Memory of Coach Frank Moore
Posted 8/27/97

Mr. Moore passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 1997. Services were held the following Saturday in Huntingtown, on the eastern shore of Maryland. Coach Moore had lived in Huntingtown since shortly after his retirement from MCPS in 1982. His wife, Peggy, a former guidance counselor at Northwood HS, passed away a couple of years ago.

"Coach" had undergone heart surgery in the late 1980s. Several months ago, his health began failing. He recently spent three weeks in Montgomery General Hospital in Olney due to a continual build-up of fluid in his lungs. He had returned home a couple of weeks ago to live out his days. Although he rallied the day prior to his passing, he had a relapse Wednesday before his heart gave out from congestive failure.

Survivors include his son, Frank A. Moore II and his wife, Kay, two granddaughters, Dawn and Elena (Dawn is a teacher for MCPS), and four brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made either to Calvert Hospice, P.O. Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678 or Emmanuel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 550, Huntingtown, MD 20639.
