Bob first played the role of the Process Server in the December 6, 1996 episode "Control/The Awakening" and presented Detective Kellerman (Reed Diamond) his Grand Jury summons in the squad room. Also appearing in the scene, Detective Munch (Richard Belzer) and Chief M.E. Julianna Cox (Michelle Forbes, who also played Ensign Ro on STTNG). The scene was also used in the recap for the 12/13/96 episode "Blood Wedding/Veil of Tears" and re-ran the following summer on August 22, 1997.

Bob also worked November 1996 in the Robert Zemeckis ("Forrest Gump" "Back to the Future") film CONTACT in a Senate hearing scene with Jodie Foster, Matthew McConaughey, James Woods, Angela Bassett, and J.A. Preston. Bob was fortunate to have been asked back to the location by Mr. Zemeckis himself on the final day of shooting in Washington for a few more close-ups as one of the media photographers!
