GET WELL SOON!: Coach Cino (Staff 1968-1981)
-
Updated 2/6/10
John Cino was released from the hospital on January 13. "Coach"
had been admitted to ICU
at Montgomery
General Hospital in Olney due to another infection (bone). He is now at the
Holy Cross Rehab Center on Greencastle Road in Burtonsville.
TIMELINE: John "Coach" Cino had been in ICU
since early September 2009. He was on life
support in
mid-October and they performed one more procedure to try and strengthen his
heart.
You
will be glad to know that your prayers helped! He has so many
people that went to Peary
that he loved so much. Mr. Cino had surgery on Monday 10/26 and 95% of
blockage in
his left main artery was removed. He still has a long road ahead of him but
this was a huge
hurdle to overcome. Coach also underwent vascular surgery November 3rd and
now has
circulation in his right leg. He is also now breathing on his own.
Coach Cino was released
from the hospital November 17, 2009 to the Layhill Center in Silver Spring
for rehab. "He is in
great spirits and working hard so he can get out and
be with [our] mom!
It'll be a while still
but he's really determined!"
His family thanks all of you for your prayers and for the e-mails and said
"We know he's the best. It's just great to know so many people care so much!"

April 6, 1909: Explorer Robert Peary, his servant

a medal from the
U.S. government.
